Abraham’s life

o Born in Ur of the Chaldese, vv. 27-28

o An old idolater, Joshua 24:2

o Married Sarah in Ur and she could not have children, Genesis 11:30

o God called Abraham at Ur.

 Sovereign act of God, Nehemiah 9:7

 He was the only one chosen, Isaiah 51:1-2

 Involved minimum information, Hebrews 11:8

• At Haran, vv. 31-32

o Destination is Canaan. The departing group is Terah, Abram, and Lot

o They deviate and stop at Haran—not really sure why. Possibly a lapse? (You

decide).
