We Need A Hero

God has always had a purpose for his people, so where is our hero?

God called Adam…and he failed—;

God called Noah…and he failed—

God called Abraham…and God would succeed-Genesis 12:1-3; 15:1-6

Hosea looked forward to the hero—

God called Christ…and he succeeded—.

Adam was the head of Old creation () Christ is head of the new creation (; ).

Adam sinned against God (; ; ) whereas Christ succeeded ().

Adam’s sin cursed the humans with death (). Christ is a life-giving spirit (; ).

Adam disobeyed God and many became sinners. Christ obeyed God and many will be made right (; ; ).

Adam lost the grace or favor of God (; ; ) Christ restored grace to men (; ; ).

God made us to be the fulfillment of these expectations in Christ—

What then are we to do?

Be the image of God—represent.

Be fruitful and multiply—make disciples.

Have dominion over creation—bring every thought captive to Christ
