The Keys to Keeping on
THE KEY TO KEEPING ON KEEPING ON
Text: “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved” (Matt. 24:13).
I. Keep Dedicated to God
“Whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s” (Rom. 14:8).
A. Many fail to yield completely to God’s will. Selfish motives and pursuits cause them to withdraw their surrender.
B. God must have first place in our lives. As we continue to yield to His will, we are strengthened and enabled to keep on keeping on (Rom. 12:1–2).
II. Keep Dependent on God
“In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” (Prov. 3:6).
A. Some leave God out of their plans. They depend entirely upon themselves and others. They become disillusioned and fail.
B. We must trust the Lord implicitly. As we depend on Him, He gives us guidance and causes us to keep on keeping on (Prov. 3:5–6).
III. Keep Delighted in God
“Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice” (Phil. 4:4).
A. Many fail to rejoice in the Lord. Because they are negative, they become discouraged and give up.
B. We must delight in the Lord continually. As we count our blessings and look for the best in others, we are enabled to keep on keeping on (Rom. 12:12–21).
IV. Keep Diligent for God
“For the love of Christ constraineth us” (2 Cor. 5:14).
A. Many are vitally concerned about pleasing themselves, but they are lazy and careless about spiritual pursuits.
B. We must be diligent about working for God. When we help the needy and share Christ with the lost, we receive blessings which empower us to keep on keeping on (Col. 3:12–14).
