Easter Eggs
One of my favorite things to do in life is to watch a movie at home on video/Blu-Ray. When I am in control of the remote I have the ability to watch movies closely and to the detriment of my wife at my own pace. Let me explain for a moment. After watching through a movie I like to go back and look for easter eggs. Now you may be asking yourself what an Easter egg is. A couple of examples are as follows. The famous and creative mind Alfred Hitchcock would often give himself small roles in his movies. They would never be huge roles and they would be for a moment. Of the 52 movies he filmed he appeared in 39 of them. In one of my favorite films Raiders of the Lost Ark George Lucas has the famous Indiana Jones walking past a wall with hieroglyphics and if you pay attention you can see CP30 and R2D2 within the ancient language. And more recently in the last installment of Avengers Endgame during the final fight scene there is a final fight scene and the classic Marvel character Howard the Duck shows up! I don’t know what it is about the Easter egg hunt in movies and games but I absolutely love finding them. I feel connected to the artists when I find them and it honestly makes me feel as though I am watching the film the way they would have wanted. And when asked to share with how we see the rest of scripture

What is clearly seen here is that our God is not a God who just creates and leaves. When His creation is in trouble He both hears and acts!
8 Now a new king arose over Egypt, who did not know Joseph. 9 He said to his people, “Look, the Israelite people are more numerous and more powerful than we. 10 Come, let us deal shrewdly with them, or they will increase and, in the event of war, join our enemies and fight against us and escape from the land.” 11 Therefore they set taskmasters over them to oppress them with forced labor. They built supply cities, Pithom and Rameses, for Pharaoh. 12 But the more they were oppressed, the more they multiplied and spread, so that the Egyptians came to dread the Israelites. 13 The Egyptians became ruthless in imposing tasks on the Israelites, 14 and made their lives bitter with hard service in mortar and brick and in every kind of field labor. They were ruthless in all the tasks that they imposed on them.
7 Then the Lord said, “I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters. I know their sufferings, 8 and I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites. 9 And now, behold, the cry of the people of Israel has come to me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them. 10 Come, I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.”

This one is tied to the former Easter egg but it is a bit different. God does not just deliver folks and then leave them purposelessness. Let’s see what He does in exodus.

In Exodus we see God confirm who is sending with very special abilities & events.

One reason why Christianity is so appealing is because it offers a God that actually wants to be in relationship with His creation. We see this in Exodus and again in the NT!

Of course I had to save this one for last! This one stands out the most. God’s ultimate saving action that takes place in Exodus sets the stage for the permanent one to come in the NT.
