Week 2 Vision involves Faith Goodness of God This week: Vision Involves Hard Work (Ch. 4-7) Lessons from Nehemiah - Opposition 4:1-9 Clearing away the rubble 4:10 Watchmen/ Guards/ Musicians 4:13-23 Those in it for Personal Gain 5:1-19 Weariness 6:9 Discernment 6:10-13 Continuing on 7:1-5 Opposition 4:1-9 How do we respond to Opposition? Do we work in “Calm Confidence”? Clearing away the rubble 4:10 What are the discouragements that we face? The tasks that seem impossible? The factors working against us? Questions from last weekWhat obstacles, trials, problems do I need to cast onto the Lord? Who do I need to forgive and then bless? Where do I need to confess Watchmen/ Guards/ Musicians 4:13-23 Teamwork makes the Dream work The one building the wall needs the one standing guard. And the one standing guard needs the one to finish the wall. Those in it for personal gain 5:1-19 “The way we help those in need ought to mirror God’s love concern.” Weariness 6:9 But I prayed, “Now strengthen my hands.” Discernment 6:10-13 Ability to differentiate between right and wrong, truth and error, correct path or incorrect path, of God or not of God. Continuing on 7:1-5 Sometimes follow through after a project is as vital as the project itself. Reflection this week What are the “Hard Work” areas right now? What is the character/ strength that God is building? Are we working with a “Calm Confidence”? Are there specific promises that we need to remember?
