1 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty.
Lovers of their own selves - selfish love, pertaining to the excessive love of oneself, self-centered1
Covetous - pertaining to being fond of or loving money, i.e., greedy; covetous
Boasters - arrogant person, a boaster, braggart
Proud - arrogant, haughty, proud. Always used to describe something negatively as prideful. This word is always used of inappropriate pride.
Blasphemers - blasphemous, slanderous, abusive. Describes words or people as connected with slander or blasphemy.
Disobedient to parents - not obeying, sometimes foolish, lawless.
Unthankful - unappreciative, ungrateful.
Unholy - Impious or lacking reverence, wicked.
Without natural affection - without love, heartless, without affection, unfeeling.
Truce-breakers - irreconcilable, unforgiving.
False accusers - devilish, malicious, slanderous, gossip.
Incontinent - lacking self-control, implying an indulgent life.
Fierce - brutal, savage.
Despisers of those that are good - to be against what is good, not loving good.
Traitors - betrayer, treason, or treacherous traitor
Heady - reckless, rash, thoughtless
High-minded - extremely proud, be conceited
Lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God - loving pleasure of this world.
