Intro:
Tonight, we will continue our study through the book of Hebrews, we’ve titled this series, [A Better Way]. The subject of tonight’s message is, [Better than Drifting].
Most of my childhood summer centered around going to the lake. We would spend at least a week to ten days and every holiday weekend at Lake Eufala.
When I was eleven or twelve, mom and dad bought a jet ski/seadoo. I never liked riding it too much, but if I did, I always rode with someone else.
When I got old enough to drive it by myself, I never went too fast or too wild because I was afraid of getting thrown into the water. As someone who is not a good swimmer, I knew I could not get there fast enough to catch the jet ski before it drifted away.
But one time that sticks out in my mind happened when a little boat was left tied up to the shore instead of taken out of the water. The storm blew early in the morning and the rope broke.
