Background
Background
The significance of a drought at this time was very great.
It was one of signs predicted in the Palestinian Covenant ()
The covenant had already been fulfilled during the time of King Ahab (1 King :17)
As that sign had been followed, even though after a long interval, by the Assyrian captivity of the northern kingdom, it should have been received by Judah as a most solemn warning

Application:
Diagnosis: We live in a society that would much rather have a big bowl of Grace without the supplement of Obedience. We love hearing anything that caters to our way of life. Although, all of the signs are there that we live in a very abnormal world,we would much rather listen to those who encourage us in Grace; but never challenged us in obedience.
Parallelism: Jeremiah is very similar to the men that call out for the lost and the sheep of today. The men and women who pray for society to see the perverse nature that we display God’s image in. The men who can see just how many false teacher are in the world today, and how they are leading so many to hell.
Message Application and take away:
Stop being alarmed about false prophets. Although we should speak out against them, stop thinking that they don’t understand the repercussions of their action. Some people are just fine with going to hell
Don’t be alarmed at the audience and the crowd that false prophets attract, and stop thinking that false teachers are leading everyone astray. Majority of the listeners are set on following the teachers into hell.
