Introduction:

1. We’re called to be witnesses. Acts 1:8

This doesn’t let us off the hook. Evangelizing is “gospeling.”
Evangelism is taking a person through the Gospel. Witnessing is that and more.

A witness has knowledge of an event from personal observation or experience.

2. The goal of witnessing is to make disciples. Matthew 28:18-20

When you make a disciple, Jesus said to “teach them to observe all things I have commanded you” which includes evangelism.

3. We witness with the power of God. Acts 1:8, John 14:12.

4. We witness individually John 3:11

This is properly what we call evangelism, sharing the Gospel. This is when we personally share our faith.

5. We witness in community. John 13:35, 1 Corinthians 11:26

a. Loving Christians John 13:35

b. Sharing the Lord’s supper 1 Corinthians 11:26
