Question: Where is God?

Who is God?

God wants to be known.

This is to some extent the story of the Bible. God making himself known to individuals like you and me.
Paul talks about the mystery of God which is the Gospel being proclaimed to Gentiles.

God is the revealer.

The content is from God but it is about God.

God is the revelation.

God’s grace provides salvation.

Ephesians 2:8–9 NIV
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.

God’s grace calls us to a job/ministry.

Ephesians 2:10 NIV
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

The Church has a responsibility to & for the Gospel.

It is through the Church where the evil powers of the world are put on notice, Christ reigns.
Actually throughout the whole book of Ephesians Paul has a glorious view of the church, one we need to recover.

Christ is faithful.

This is what I think Paul is referring to in verse 12. Because of Christ’s faith and his faithfulness we have “perks”.

Christ’s faithfulness gives us access.

I am free in Christ.

Free to approach God whenever you want. This doesn’t mean you can be flippant and such. No just the opposite. Yet, you can go straight to God for what you need. This is the hope we share with others. The Gospel says you don’t deserve nor desire Jesus but you can have him. You can go straight to God for forgiveness.

I have confidence & boldness in Christ.

Because of these three things we can not be discouraged when things don’t go as expected. We can have faith in Jesus even in the midst of crisis, chaos, imprisonment, ridicule and so on.
