80+ years of marriage exper betw them

big question: his place (better golf) and her place (better fishing)

Jeff checked out Jerry: plays golf > ok

mixed emotions… and that’s a good thing

don’t spoil a good friendship by getting married

reflecting on good marriages: Jody and Chuck

Chuck (missed Jerry’s first wedding to Jody)

J took easy way and married someone he knew

LUV / LOVE

This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

A goal of Xn life in general and Xn couple and Xn family in particular is to have this love become natural but it always remains something we practice, choose to do, that we are commanded to do: Love one another!

command / promise

mixed emotions: joy and love

I have said these things to you so that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be complete.

And so throughout your marriage, I/we pray that your joy—in each other, in Christ—may be complete

you will not only LUV each other but also LOVE one another just as God loved you and holds your love together now and will love you always. AMEN.
