Detour
We have been going through the life of Elijah, but this morning we will take a small detour.
Results of one of his prophesies.
1 Kings 21:17-
1 Kings 21:17–19 NASB95
17 Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying, 18 “Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who is in Samaria; behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth where he has gone down to take possession of it. 19 “You shall speak to him, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord, “Have you murdered and also taken possession?” ’ And you shall speak to him, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord, “In the place where the dogs licked up the blood of Naboth the dogs will lick up your blood, even yours.” ’ ”
Elijah said some other stuff too.
Jezabel would be eaten by dogs in Jezereel.
Elijah predicted other things and Ahab tore his clothes, put on sackcloth and fasted and God told Elijah that he would not bring the evil in Ahab’s days, but in the days of his son’s days.

God is sensitive to your humility.

Martye and I were in the car and I took the opportunity to tell her how wonderful her husband was. And she agreed and said that one of the reasons she loved me so much was my modesty. (Humility). I told her that when it comes to humility, I don’t know of anyone that’s better.
Proverbs 11:2 NASB95
2 When pride comes, then comes dishonor, But with the humble is wisdom.
James 4:10 NASB95
10 Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.
Proverbs 22:4 NASB95
4 The reward of humility and the fear of the Lord Are riches, honor and life.
Ahab humbled himself before God, and God delayed his judgement.
But Ahab was not Humble for long
1 Kings 22:29–38 NASB95
29 So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah went up against Ramoth-gilead. 30 The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “I will disguise myself and go into the battle, but you put on your robes.” So the king of Israel disguised himself and went into the battle. 31 Now the king of Aram had commanded the thirty-two captains of his chariots, saying, “Do not fight with small or great, but with the king of Israel alone.” 32 So when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, they said, “Surely it is the king of Israel,” and they turned aside to fight against him, and Jehoshaphat cried out. 33 When the captains of the chariots saw that it was not the king of Israel, they turned back from pursuing him. 34 Now a certain man drew his bow at random and struck the king of Israel in a joint of the armor. So he said to the driver of his chariot, “Turn around and take me out of the fight; for I am severely wounded.” 35 The battle raged that day, and the king was propped up in his chariot in front of the Arameans, and died at evening, and the blood from the wound ran into the bottom of the chariot. 36 Then a cry passed throughout the army close to sunset, saying, “Every man to his city and every man to his country.” 37 So the king died and was brought to Samaria, and they buried the king in Samaria. 38 They washed the chariot by the pool of Samaria, and the dogs licked up his blood (now the harlots bathed themselves there), according to the word of the Lord which He spoke.
1 Kings 22:29-

You can’t outrun your past

Ahab’s past had finally caught up with him. We are not told specifically where Naboth was killed, but I’d bet all I owned it was next to a pool where the harlots bathed themselves.
Martye and I have been watching a show called Hunters. Al Pachinno.
Its about Holocost survivors that after WWII hunt down Nazi War criminals that are trying to hide.
If fictional and there are some graphic parts. Nudity - Old lady.
There were true stories of Nazi Hunters.
Franz Stangl
WHAT HE’S INFAMOUS FOR: Nicknamed the “White Death” for his proclivity to wear a white uniform and carry a whip, the Austrian-born Stangl worked on the Aktion T-4 euthanasia program under which the Nazis killed those with mental and physical disabilities. He later served as the commandant of the Sobibor and Treblinka death camps in German-occupied Poland. More than 100,000 Jews are believed to have been murdered during his tenure at Sobibor before he moved to Treblinka, where he was directly responsible for the Nazis’ second-deadliest camp where 900,000 were killed.
HIS PATH TO SOUTH AMERICA: After the end of the war, Stangl was captured by the Americans but escaped to Italy from an Austrian prison camp in 1947. Assisted by the Nazi-sympathizing Austrian bishop Alois Hudal, Stangl traveled to Syria on a Red Cross passport before sailing to Brazil in 1951.
HOW HE WAS CAPTURED: He was employed by Volkswagen in São Paulo under his own name when he was arrested in 1967 after being tracked down by Simon Wiesenthal, a Holocaust survivor and well-known Nazi hunter. Extradited to West Germany, Stangl was tried and found guilty of the mass murder of 900,000 people. Sentenced to life imprisonment, he died of heart failure in 1971.
Jeremiah 23
Jeremiah 23:24 NASB95
24 “Can a man hide himself in hiding places So I do not see him?” declares the Lord. “Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?” declares the Lord.
Psalm 139:7–10 NASB95
7 Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? 8 If I ascend to heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there. 9 If I take the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, 10 Even there Your hand will lead me, And Your right hand will lay hold of me.
You can’t hide from God!
What does that mean for your sin?
You are not going to out run it. You are not going to hide from it. You can lie to everyone else, you can lie to yourself, but you cannot lie to God.
Three choices
Two choices Confess and repent, or prepare to pay for them yourself.
For the Christian that has confessed Christ and received his forgiveness, but brings a new sin in their life, it is hell on earth. Doubt creeps in, doubt about ones own salvation, doubt’s about God’s love for them. They will become ineffectual in their witnesses. They will experience God’s discipline....
Hebrews 12:6 NASB95
6 For those whom the Lord loves He disciplines, And He scourges every son whom He receives.”
Fram air filters: you can pay me now, or you can pay me later.

If God wills it to happen, it is going to happen.

Ahab- hid as a regular soldier. Away from the fighting, on a chariot. Wearing armor.
Random arrow hit him in the perfect spot that would cause his death.
He was killed in one spot, buried in another place and the chariot he was on was taken to another place to be washed, because God willed it so. God said those dogs are going to lick up his blood in that spot and arranged for everything to happen according to His will.
God is undeniable.
I don’t believe in God and I won’t say that I will!!!
Yes you will. How do I know?
Romans 14:11 NASB95
11 For it is written, As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall give praise to God.”
Romans 4:11 NASB95
11 and he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while uncircumcised, so that he might be the father of all who believe without being circumcised, that righteousness might be credited to them,
Philippians 2:10 NASB95
10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
Philippians 2:9–11 NASB95
9 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
He is the almighty God!
Romans 11:36 NASB95
36 For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.
There is no power, no force, no purpose, no being that is able to stand up to the wisdom, the power or the glory of our God. All things revolve around him ().
But we have free will that we can reject him not.
Matthew 12:30 NASB95
30 “He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me scatters.
Matthew 12
