Subject: How did Paul explain who were the promises were made to?
Complement: Paul used the example of Abraham and explained that the promises were made to him and his offspring, who is Christ, and that the law which was given does not make annul the promise, but was added because of transgressions, until Christ should come and that we might be justified by faith in Jesus and become heirs according to the promise.
EI: Paul explain who the promises were made to as he used the example of Abraham and explained that the promises were made to him and his offspring, who is Christ, and that the law which was given does not make annul the promise, but was added because of transgressions, until Christ should come and that we might be justified by faith in Jesus and become heirs according to the promise.
BIG idea: God’s covenantal promise is fulfilled in Jesus Christ to those who put their faith in him.
Aim: To let hearers know that God is a faithful covenant-keeping God and we can all enter into this covenant by placing our faith in Jesus Christ, and not on obedience to the Law (which we can’t uphold).
So What?: Be thankful to God for He is a covenant-keeping God. Trust Him and believe in Jesus Christ.
Human Example: E.g. Man-made covenant (Will): Once made, you don’t ignore it or set it aside, neither can you add to it.
