30 Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
18 This was why the Jews were seeking all the more to kill him, because not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God. 19 So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise. 20 For the Father loves the Son and shows him all that he himself is doing. And greater works than these will he show him, so that you may marvel.
John 20
In Verse 18 He is Lord of the Sabbath and just the Lord period
He is equal with God
18 This was why the Jews were seeking all the more to kill him, because not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God. 19 So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise. 20 For the Father loves the Son and shows him all that he himself is doing. And greater works than these will he show him, so that you may marvel.
This goes with Philippians 2:5-8
5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
Jesus came not only to be Man’s sacrifice but to be man’s example
this is what submission to the Father looks like
this is where where spiritual authority comes from
the problem is you have a bunch of hyped misled, untrained, and disobedient servents out there, and they march around, they get all hyped up, miracle mongers at heart but no power, no Holy Spirit showing up
Phillipians points oiut what Christ gave up
Metamorphosis is somewhere in this passage when he takes on the form of a servant in the likness of men
Did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped
Submission and humilty are key in these passages
Submission and humilty are key in these passages
you also see the Spirit not speaking on His own but being submissive to the Son and the Father.
You see the Son emptying himself
If submission and humilty is present within the Godhead how much should it be present in our own lives?
