As I was preparing to talk through Jesus’ character and how it relates to the Kingdom, all that I could think about is how the church has been taken captive by the politics of America. Most

A Kingdom is ruled by a King, just like an empire is ruled by an emperor. The character of the king defines the character of the kingdom, just like an emperor defines the character of the empire. In our country, the closest thing we have to a king is the president. In fact, the president is actually closer to the idea of a king than let’s say, the monarch in England. We can see here, the character of the president and we will say the politicians, in many ways, has defined the character of our nation. Now our nation is not the Kingdom I am going to talk about. We are talking about the Kingdom of God.

Jesus’ character defines or redefines the character of a Jesus-kingdom. Many in the church universal have opted to follow the empire’s way and create an empire way when there is supposed to be a Jesus way.
