We considered last week how temple was about the salvation and worship of God. This week we consider what defines our worship and how we have a ‘temple approach’ to him today. And it’s all about who God is; his nature, his character, his person. In Solomon’s dedication and prayer, he reveals wonderful things about who God – his transcendence, discipline, attentiveness and grace – and the ceremony reminds us of how we respond to such a mighty and merciful God. Worship means nothing apart from the revealed characteristics of our Father, who is both out of this world and deep within us.
