Richard Hendricks - Editor

We Have a New Sunday School TeacherRichard Hendricks has been appointed as the new Sunday School teacher for the Homebuilders Sunday School class.  He’s been a member of the church for over 11 years and has lived in the Oxnard area for almost 13 years.  He is a Civil Servant at the Naval Air Warfare Center in Point Mugu where he works as an Electronics Engineer. His goal is to present the Bible passages in a clear way so that God’s word can speak to us today.

                                                                                                                                                           August 2000

Name the Sunday School ClassBy Richard HendricksDid you notice the blank line in the title of this newsletter?  That’s because I believe that “Homebuilders” does not adequately describe our Sunday School class.  I encourage all of us to think about what we want our Sunday School class to be called.
Ideas for Socials NeededBy Richard HendricksOne of my problems is the fact that planning for socials and I go together like oil and water.  That being said, I believe that it is important for our class to get together outside of the Sunday School Hour for times of fellowship and fun.  If you have any ideas of things that we can do as a class or you would like to open your home for class parties, please let me know.

! The Current Unit – Old Testament Salvation History

Over the past 5 weeks we have been studying selected passages from the Old Testament.  The purpose of this survey is to see the beginnings of God’s work in drawing us to Himself.  The Old Testament presents God’s desire for a personal relationship with us as shown in its people and events.  The ambitious goal of this unit is to consider the whole historical context of salvation from the creation of the world to the promise of the Messiah.
