With Lawlessness (2 Cor 6:14)
With Lawlessness (2 Cor 6:14)
A righteous person cannot be in cooperation with a lawless person and still be righteous!
Fellowship - μετοχή, ῆς f: a relationship involving shared purposes and activity—‘partnership, sharing.’ (Louw, J. P., & Nida).
Louw, J. P., & Nida
The Lexham English Bible Chapter 6
what participation is there between righteousness and lawlessness?
Righteousness and lawlessness have different purposes!
The purpose of righteousness is to do what is right in the sight of God.
The purpose of lawlessness is to avoid doing what is right.
The two are apposed to one another. So, the only way to have participation between them is for one to stop being what they were and start being what the other is.

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.
And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,
Louw, J. P., & Nida
Light and dark have different natures.
The nature of light is to expose.
The nature of darkness is to conceal.

Louw, J. P., & Nida

What part - what sharing participation?
Believers and unbelievers have different goals!
The goal of a believer is to live and teach the things of Christ.
The goal of unbelievers is to live according to their own will.
O Lord, I know the way of man is not in himself;
It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps.
There is a way that seems right to a man,
But its end is the way of death.

The Temple of God and the temple of idols have different masters.
