psalm 69:32
Psalm 69:32–36 ESV
When the humble see it they will be glad; you who seek God, let your hearts revive. For the Lord hears the needy and does not despise his own people who are prisoners. Let heaven and earth praise him, the seas and everything that moves in them. For God will save Zion and build up the cities of Judah, and people shall dwell there and possess it; the offspring of his servants shall inherit it, and those who love his name shall dwell in it.
1. HUMBLE
when the “humble” or the “poor” see it
Often in psalms we see God as the defender of the weak, the marginalized
psalm
Psalm 82:3–4 ESV
Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”
What is our posture?
does humility mark my soul right now?
Matthew 5:3 ESV
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
2. JOY
the humble… “they will be glad… you who seek God, let your hearts revive… “come back to life
let the heaven and earth praise him...”
When our validation is aimed towards God, there is an acceptance that comes from him that leads us towards joy.
We are loved today. We are loved today in ways that we could only dream of loving.
3. REWARD
for God will save Zion and build up the cities of Judah… and the people shall possess it… dwell in it… we will inherit it…”
And this is good news!
Prayer: “Let us not be distracted. Cultivate within us, faith.”
