15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
1 John 2:15
15 Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.
This is a warning and a command. The command is not to love this world nor the things that the world offers you.
If you do love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.
The world is against God, it is in rebellion against God.
What is the world? The world system is the people constituting the world whose values, beliefs, and morals are in distinction and rebellion to God’s.
4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
Yes the bible does say that:
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
This means that we are to love and show godly compassion toward those who are a part of this world system in hopes that God can use us to influence them to come out from the world.
23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
God doesn’t want us to be in cahoots with the world.
The world hated Jesus, how does it look for us to be friends with the world.
7 The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.
God doesn’t want us to be in cahoots with the world.
There is one way to tell whether you are walking right before God.
19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
When you are walking upright before God you can expect the world to hate you. They are not going to like you, they are not going to want to be around you. Why? Because if you have God living inside of you, you are an ambassador of God. If you are an ambassador of God and God lives inside of you, just your presence will begin to make the worldly folk uncomfortable. They will change their conversation, they will move to another room, they will huddle in corners, make eye contact with you and talk evil of you. You still love them, but don’t lower your standards to be accepted by them. You live holy and honor God!
4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
Don’t get comfortable down here, don’t fall asleep at the wheel. Don’t allow the world to cause you to lose sight on your true purpose while you’re here. What purpose? To glorify God in the earth, to establish a relationship with God. Don’t allow the world to cause you to take your eyes off things that are most important. The most important thing that you have in your possession right now is now what you own, it’s not what you feel, it’s not making a name for yourself, it is your soul.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
16 For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world.
Satan is the prince of this world.
31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
John
This world is controlled by him, that’s why you see so much evil in the world.
The scriptures say that we are not ignorant of Satan’s devices. When Satan comes to tempt you, he will always tempt in one of the three manners.
Lust of the eye, lust of the flesh, or the pride of life.
That’s how he got Adam and Eve to fall.
That is the same way he tempted Jesus.
31 And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away.
