Intro

-Family discussion tonight
-What we can expect in the coming season for our community.

Story of Nehemiah

-Started with a big dream and payer to God: see his city restored physically and spiritually
-Carried out with boldness: asked permission from the king of another region to not only let him leave his post but to protect and fund his project.
-Made a plan for the rebuild: with a few trusted friends that understand and believed in the vision he’d been given from God, he assessed the work necessary to rebuild the wall.
-Assembled a team: Nehemiah knew the work could only been done with the help others that had the attitude and talent necessary to carry out the work
-Stayed alert to attacks and opposition: he was conscious of the attacks and plots against him and stayed alert and formed a good game plan. but his attitude and plan solely relied on God’s protection
-Remained focused on the kingdom and not the castle: he wasn’t so wrapped up in finishing his project that he ignored the breakdown happening in his culture.
-Experienced the victory promised by God: not only was his city restored, but exiles were returned home and a city formally far from God changed its ways and resubmitted everything back to Him.
