Can I get an AMEN to that!? I want you guys to understand that being in need isn’t always talking about money. You could be in need of support. You could be in need of love. You could be in need of friendship. You could be in need of money! You could be in need of coffee! Some of you looking extra tired this afternoon! haha But Paul is saying that he has LEARNED to be CONTENT, WHATEVER the CIRCUMSTANCES. Being content when you are in need must be learned! Being content when you are in need must be learned! They say you learn something new every day. Its funny how you only say that when you learn something new. But you don’t say it everyday haha.

My supervisor had to ride along with me last week. And I don’t remember exactly what we were talking about, but it led to one of the moments when i said “you learn something new every day.” And i said it. but i really cant tell you what it is i learned. i didnt internalize it or make it mine. because it wasnt important to me.

So here Paul is telling this people of Philipie something that he had learned. He is passing on wisdom that he had experience throughout his life journey. Throughout the perseccuion, throughout his life as a follower of Jesus Christ and he says, I have learned to be content whatever the circumstance.

So as i stand up here this afternoon, i too want to share something that i have learned throughout my life journey. Throughout my walk with God. I share this with you all from heart because i dont have authority to speak on anyone elses experiences but my own. And that is YOU ARE ENOUGH! I AM ENOUGH! Stand up ! and look at the saddest person you see and say you are enough ! now look at the happiest person you see and tell then you are enough! and i say that becausse ht e happiest peson you see may be the saddest person in the room haha. now take out your phone! and open your camera! and take a selfie video! fix your hair! and say i am enough! and save that for when you are feeling down!

Because no matter what they told you, now matter what you told yourself. You are enough. You are covered in Gods grace! you have been saved by the blood of Jesus Christ. You were enough for God to send his only son to die on the cross for your sins and for mines! Now its time to finishe what you started!

The Golden Calf

32 When the people saw that Moses was so long in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said, “Come, make us gods who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who brought us up out of Egypt, we don’t know what has happened to him.”

2 Aaron answered them, “Take off the gold earrings that your wives, your sons and your daughters are wearing, and bring them to me.” 3 So all the people took off their earrings and brought them to Aaron. 4 He took what they handed him and made it into an idol cast in the shape of a calf, fashioning it with a tool. Then they said, “These are your gods, y Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.”

5 When Aaron saw this, he built an altar in front of the calf and announced, “Tomorrow there will be a festival to the LORD.” 6 So the next day the people rose early and sacrificed burnt offerings and presented fellowship offerings. Afterward they sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in revelry.

7 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go down, because your people, whom you brought up out of Egypt, have become corrupt. 8 They have been quick to turn away from what I commanded them and have made themselves an idol cast in the shape of a calf. They have bowed down to it and sacrificed to it and have said, ‘These are your gods, Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.’

Prayer

Father, we thank you for this word this afternoon. We thank you for another oportunity. We thank you for being the God of second chances. We thank you for every person who is here in this room. I pray that this word that you have given me touches the heart of your people. In Jesus name we Pray AMEN!

I am truly grateful to serve a God who gave me a second chance. I was even more grateful when he gave me a third chance. Then there was that time when he gave me a fourth chance. Is anyone here grateful for serving a God who is just so good to you. So merciful and just. I dont know what chance you are on, but i ant you to Know that You are enough. even though youve messed up again, God is still good. and God didnt make a mistake when he called you to serve.

Somtimes as a preacher, yea im calling myself a preacher now. Its so weird to say that out loud, i start feeling bad when i make mistakes because i think as a person who stand up and preaches GOds word like i need to be better than everyone else! like i need to be more qualified than everyone else. Like i need to be smater than everyone else. Except i didnt finish college. I didnt take theology cources and even most imortantly im not holy enough.

I still get mad and say things i shouldnt say. i still have batteles and temptations i need to fight. i still have doubts in my abilities. i still care what people think about me. i feel like God is discusted with the way i act and they way i think of myzself. But like peter had to learn to be content no matter the circumstance i have learned/ no coreection i am learning that I am enough.

I am learning that even though i dont feel qualified, God is the one who will qualify me. Because God takes unqualified people and qulifies them.

So if there is anyone in this room who doesnt feel like they are enough, guess what You are enough! Becuase the God i serve will take you just the way you are. He will break you down and make you brand new! He will restore your life and transform your heart. He can transfor you from a consumer to a produceer. he can make you go from Broke to rich. he can make go from bitter to better. from sad to joyful.

Thats why we shout! thats why we look crazy in this place. Thats why a person who is grateful for what God did for them doesnt need a worship leader to force them to worship. Thats why a person who is grateful for the tranfomation that Jesus did in their heart doesnt need the pastor to beg them to give offering just so he can pay the rent. When you say GOD HEre i am. Im not enough, i need you to make me whole. God will make you enough! but you need to declare it in JEsus name.

Golden Calf

We read in the book of . That moses has gone MIA. That he is missing and the people of israel are getting desperate. While Moses is on mount Sinai speaking to GOD, and recieving word from God, the people of Israel are gorwing restless and impatient. “Uhhhh how long is it going to take Moses to get back down here! We left Egypt for this?” so beofre you start judging these people moses was gone for 40days and 40 nights. Some of us cant even wait in line at the supermarket.

I Have officially declared shaws in hyde park the worst supermarket because they have 12 regitser and never have anyone working anymore. So if you are seeking employment go apply there because they are in dyer need of casheirs.

Moses was gone for a long time because God was prepairing something big for the people of israels. He was telling moses in extreme detail ! what he was to do. IDK how he wrote all of it down. that why it took so long! he was probly like “ God can you say that again? ok let me get this straight? so when you said though shall not lie you mean like every? in the ten comandment you said though shall not commit adultery, but what if my wife has been like really extra lately? listen God is preapairing something big for you. Matter of fact God was preapairing some new Priesty clothes for Aaron who was moses brother.

And you know what Aaron did? WHile the peoprle where complaing abut Moses taking too long to come down from the mouuntain, Aaron who was left incharge fell into their pressure! Make us gods they said. Aaron the same person who saw God used to perfom signs and wonders to free the people of Israel from the egyptions. I mean arron walked throught the red see on dry ground! Arrom was the profet because moses had a suttering problem yet...... Aaron said to the people of israel GHIVE me the Gold earing from your wife and kids and bring them to me!

But wait wernt the israelites in the wilderness seeking the promice land? werent they salaves in Egypt? where did they get all this bling? You see when God freed them from the Egyptions they egyptions were so scared that they gave them all their gold and plunder. You see when God sets you free from captivity there will blessing somein gyour way that you never imagined!

Aaron took this gold and melted it. he took the gold that God had given them and used it to make an idol in the shape of a calf and called it God! Dont every forget who gave you what you have. Its easy to forget because you cant see him. But dont every forget who freed you from your sins. Dont ever get So saved that you forget you got saved.

What was Aaron thinking? i mean cmon man. youve seen it all. youve seen God move. you know what hes capable of. You may not know it, but while you was down making idols out of gold God was up there creating your new fit in detail. With amazing colors. and fabricks. and rare stones.

Some of you down here acting a fool. You knwo what God has done for you but you allow anyone to pressure you to their way of thinking. If you squeeze a orange you get orange juice. if you squeeze a person you get whats inside. Pressure. you refuse to stand up for what it is you beleive. You feel like you arnt enough to stand up to a crowd and say no! we will not do that becuase God says that is not okay. What is it you stand for?

Its not the timne to be here pleasing people. Pleasing people will is bad leaership. Aaron was left in charge while moses went up to speak to God. Leadership requires integrity and requires making difficult desision.

“This is now our GOd who brought us out of egypt!” And the people loved it. Its kind of what we see today! people will each up just about anything! This is the newest iphone! its faster than ever before ! yess i need that! this is the new herbal tea that will make you losse 100 pounds in 3 days! yess i need that.

Sometimes i feel like aaron did. Man im just so dumb. how could i allow that to happen again? even after everything God hs done in my life? God will never forgive me now.

But this afternoon i want you to declare with that You are enough! That no matter what addiction you have. That no matter what depression you are batteling God says you are enough.

Aaron probly went to bed that night feeling so stupid. probly coudnt even sleep. Later in the txt it says that mosses ordered the levites to kill some of thoes who where in the came because of what happened.

You ever feel that way? i know i do. when i think of all the things i did wrong when i knew better. when i faild God becasue of pressure. When i failed God even after ive accepted christ into my heart.

6 Then Moses brought Aaron and his sons forward and washed them with water. 7 He put the tunic on Aaron, tied the sash around him, clothed him with the robe and put the ephod on him. He also fastened the ephod with a decorative waistband, which he tied around him. 8 He placed the breastpiece on him and put the Urim and Thummim in the breastpiece. 9 Then he placed the turban on Aaron’s head and set the gold plate, the sacred emblem, on the front of it, as the LORD commanded Moses.

We are covered by Gods Grace. Gods grace is a gift. you can choose to receive it or reject it.

Your past doesnt not make you unqualified. Aaron was now clothed with a new preistly outfil. He was called to reprisent the people of Israel. He was the high priest who made scarifices in the tabernacle for the people of Israel. So now when the people came to aaron and saidhey man ive sinned again. Aaron didnt look at them and say Are you serious? you keep falling short of Gods glory! what is wrong with you people? Aaron understood and had a heart of compassion for the people because he understood what it was to have a messy past

You are enough. what youve done and what youve been through does not unqualify you. You are covered in Gods grace. You are created in his image.

there are 7,500,000,000 billio people in the world 60 million are christian 8% of thw world is saved and going to heaven. 92% will be seperated from God in internity. That really bothers me. To know that God has been so good to me. to know that i have received his grace, his sacrifice even though i didnt deserve it. that he qualifies me to speak of his good news. I am no longer scared or ashamed. i want the world to know that i am saved and that they can be saved too. That is why this year i have decided to get baptized. I received bapstims whe i was young and anaware of what i was doing. But a bapstism is a celebration of my faith. It is saying to everyone what i have confirmed in private. Lets us be light in the world this week.
