Eulogy for Julien Lionel Hypolite

Ancient customs say,
Ps.
I consider it one of the highest honors in ministry to eulogize a righteous man. I spoke to a Rayna, a daughter in the Lord who asked me to come, about the word eulogy. A eulogy is a blessing.
Ancient customs say, “Eulogies contain an expression of the desire that the life of the departed may prove to have been a blessing, that their earthly remains may have peace, and that their souls have entered the realms of bliss, are partaking there of heavenly blessings and of the raptures of Eden, and are face to face with the glory of God”
I’ve come to pronounce a blessing upon Julien and pray that his earthly body will be resurrected from the dead and transformed into her heavenly body made perfect by God and that he will receive the magnificent mansion Jesus promised his servants.
It is right to assemble together and pray, laugh and cry for someone so rich in God. This moment is a transformative one. Julien makes us a family into a family in his name. Some of you will remember this day fondly for the rest of your lives. I will be connected with you as long as I live, because you invited me to share this moment with you.
I have buried hundreds of people over 38 years. I do not always know people intimately. Here is what I do.
I pray. Then I pray again. Then I read the obituary and ask God to tell me who the person was. Then I ask God what to say to the family. I’ve done it for 38 years.
I read the obituary and I know the spirit of the Julien Polite.
Julien was a leader. That means God gave him the spirit of understanding. says,
The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.
Julien feared the Lord.
Blessed is every one who fears the Lord, Who walks in His ways. When you eat the labor of your hands, You shall be happy, and it shall be well with you. Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine In the very heart of your house, Your children like olive plants All around your table. Behold, thus shall the man be blessed Who fears the Lord.
Julien was a righteous man
He was a generous man. The bible says, “The righteous lendeth.” God blesses the righteous so they can take care of others.
Wealth and riches will be in his house, And his righteousness endures forever. Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. A good man deals graciously and lends; He will guide his affairs with discretion. Surely he will never be shaken; The righteous will be in everlasting remembrance.
He loved his family. Any man who loves his family is responsible. He takes the obligation to protect and provide seriously. His reward is loved which he reciprocates. A man who loves his children and grandchildren, wife, brothers and sisters becomes the ground upon which everyone stands.
What does God have to say about Julien?
“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.”
It is in our passage.
In Life the Lord showed Julien what matters. Hard work, integrity, faith in God, doing the right thing and loving your family. In death God showed Julien his reward; he showed him his mansion, his provision… he will eat from the tree of life and drink from the waters of life. God showed him his new job. He will sign and praise God in wonder for all his goodness and mercy, along will angels and arch angels...
God showed him his presence… The Tabernacle of God will be with them...
All because one day, God showed him Jesus dying on the Cross for the sins of the world.
