The Situation Room of the Church

Text
Deuteronomy 32:48-52
Deuteronomy 32:48–52 NKJV
48 Then the Lord spoke to Moses that very same day, saying: 49 “Go up this mountain of the Abarim, Mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, across from Jericho; view the land of Canaan, which I give to the children of Israel as a possession; 50 and die on the mountain which you ascend, and be gathered to your people, just as Aaron your brother died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his people; 51 because you trespassed against Me among the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah Kadesh, in the Wilderness of Zin, because you did not hallow Me in the midst of the children of Israel. 52 Yet you shall see the land before you, though you shall not go there, into the land which I am giving to the children of Israel.”
Deuteronomy 33:1 NKJV
1 Now this is the blessing with which Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death.
Deuteronomy 33:
Deuteronomy 33:29 NKJV
29 Happy are you, O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord, The shield of your help And the sword of your majesty! Your enemies shall submit to you, And you shall tread down their high places.”
Deuteronomy 33:29
Introduction
Body
The Situation Room
There is a room in which some of the most world-changing decisions have taken place many times.
Miles away from where we are today, in Washington D.C., in the West Wing of the White House sits what is known as “The Situation Room”.
The creation of this room was ordered by JFK during his tenure. He commissioned it directly after a failed military mission that was partly due to not having clear communication.
And so, today we have The Situation Room. Used in such events as 9/11, special ops missions, and natural disasters, it was designed for secure communication for the president to command any and all forces of the United States, particularly when the country is on the cusp of an important moment.
I believe I’ll repeat that: The Situation Room is most often used when the country is on the cusp of an important moment.
...
Do you ever feel as if you…we…together are just on the cusp of something special?
If I may speak openly with you, we have been at the cusp of something very big for some time now.
As a matter of fact, I know that we are crossing the threshold of it even now.
I want to issue a notice tonight: If you don’t recognize this transfer, this movement that is happening - if you are not engaged in what the Spirit is doing - it’s time to wake up in the name of Jesus!!!
What we are beginning to see is exactly what God has promised!
And I don’t intend to be very long today, but I do want you to know that I believe that it is the will of God that for every promise we find in that Book, we accept and walk in it and take ownership of it like it’s already been performed in our local church!
I believe that there is a people that God has called that is now ready to walk into the promised land.
I’m talking about a people that is no longer shaky and wobbly in their stance, but have found solid ground and are marching forward in His name.
And I’m ready to do business of behalf of my Father! I’m ready to do my Father’s business! I’m ready to walk in the Holy Ghost!
Moses Steps Up To Speak
And so here we find an elder Moses, the prophet, at the age of 120. And he is about to step up and speak a word to the people.
Moses, a man who some people misunderstand at this point. You might say, “He’s about to speak a word?! Isn’t he the one who disobeyed God? The one who didn’t do right?”
Yes, he messed up. Yes, he had his struggles. But we need to see something about Moses today, and that’s that he is to be remembered for his faithfulness in spite of his failure!!!
And the Bible tells us in that, although he was 120, “His eyes were not dim and his natural vigor was not diminished!”
No, he wasn’t always perfect. And yes, some things happened in his life.
But from his first day with God, to his last day with God, to every day in between, what held the life of Moses together and what made the difference - was FAITHFULNESS!!!
...
And Moses is told by God that it has come time for his death. And he tells him that he will see the land, but not go in. He will stand with the people AT THE THRESHOLD, but only they will go in.
And Moses, feeling the gravity and the importance of this moment, decides that it is time to get the people together and speak a word.
Moses said to hisself, “Self - we have a situation!”
He calls the people together - into the Situation Room, if you will...
And he begins to give forth a word of blessing over the people that ends up being Deuteronomy 33.
The heading in my Bible says, “Moses’ Final Blessing on Israel.”
He speaks blessings over specific tribes...
Deuteronomy 33:6 NKJV
6 “Let Reuben live, and not die, Nor let his men be few.”
Deuteronomy 33:7 NKJV
7 And this he said of Judah: “Hear, Lord, the voice of Judah, And bring him to his people; Let his hands be sufficient for him, And may You be a help against his enemies.”
Deuteronomy 33:
Deuteronomy 33:12 NKJV
12 Of Benjamin he said: “The beloved of the Lord shall dwell in safety by Him, Who shelters him all the day long; And he shall dwell between His shoulders.”
All of these blessings...
And then, there at the end, he begins to speak over the entire body of Israel.
You understand that the people of Israel, throughout the Old Testament, were a type of the church. They were God’s chosen people.
And when I came to this last part in my daily Bible reading, I began to realize the relevance and the power in the words that Moses began to speak over the people.
And I’m going to read exactly what he said by inspiration of God… and I believe that revelation and power is going to enter into this room in such a way that is going to leave somebody changed.
But you understand that this was not just some farewell, feel-good, last stand speech that Moses was giving.
No, no, no. He understood where they were standing. He understood that they were crossing over into something that people had been praying over for years.
Momma and daddy said that there would be a day like this! I remember hearing it taught about that a day was coming like this...
Elder ones that had long passed had lifted up prayers for this moment. And now, they were seeing prayers of the elders come to pass!
Can I tell you that we are living in a day in which we are seeing and walking in things that elders prayed and sought God for!
John 4:35–38 NKJV
35 Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! 36 And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. 37 For in this the saying is true: ‘One sows and another reaps.’ 38 I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.”
It ought to absolutely excite us to be at church!
We ought to entirely overjoyed to be at church!
Because you never know what old dead saint is about to have their prayer answered in our very midst!!!
Jerry Dean rejoiced as a former AR Youth President, when he was told we had an SFC offering in AR that was over $250,000!
The Situation Room of the Church
So you see, Moses completely understood that this was a moment for the ages!
And what he was going to say wasn’t something to just comfort the people while he was dying. It’s not that kind of word he was giving.
His intention… was that he would say exactly what these people needed to hear as they walked over into a land flowing with milk and honey, in which they would have to do battle, and be prepared to destroy nations who opposed their possession of that land.
The easiest way to say this is that he was calling them into the Situation Room!
And today, as I stand before you under the anointing, I am calling us into the Situation Room of the church!
Because it is time to mobilize! It is time to ready yourself!
We are walking into something right now!
I said we are walking into something right now!
This is not a thing where we’re going to see it next month, next year or next decade.
I’m talking about God taking over a threshold right where we are at!
What Moses Said (Duet. 33:29)
“Happy are you, O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord,”
“Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord,”
The question is actually a declaration: “There is no people like you.”
We need a revelation of who we are!
“the Lord… The shield of your help and the sword of your majesty!”
“the Lord… the sword of your majesty!”
“Your enemies shall submit to you,”
Psalm 23:3–5 KJV 1900
3 He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
“And you shall tread down their high places.”
Ephesians 6:12–13 KJV 1900
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Ephesianse 6:12-13
Matthew 16:17 KJV 1900
17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 16:18 KJV 1900
18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
I’ve got a word for somebody today: “Walls are coming down.”
Conclusion
Elisha: given a double portion of Elijah’s spirit.
7 Dispensations
Ours: Grace
On the 6th day, a double portion of Manna.
The like/as principle
We are living in the dispensation of double portion!
We are seeing things we never prayed for or were not the first to pray for!
We need to ready ourselves!
I am calling somebody into rejoicing! Into commitment!
