Daniel 1:1–5 NKJV
1 In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it. 2 And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with some of the articles of the house of God, which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the articles into the treasure house of his god. 3 Then the king instructed Ashpenaz, the master of his eunuchs, to bring some of the children of Israel and some of the king’s descendants and some of the nobles, 4 young men in whom there was no blemish, but good-looking, gifted in all wisdom, possessing knowledge and quick to understand, who had ability to serve in the king’s palace, and whom they might teach the language and literature of the Chaldeans. 5 And the king appointed for them a daily provision of the king’s delicacies and of the wine which he drank, and three years of training for them, so that at the end of that time they might serve before the king.

We are not at the MERCY of a pagan culture.

The future of the world will be DETERMINED by who CAPTURES the next generation.

Protection of our children from our culture is IMPOSSIBLE, but preparation of them is IMPERATIVE.

Only a generation with Biblical CONVICTION and a winsome SPIRIT can transform the Babylonian culture of our day,

Change his THINKING.

we are a product of our thought life!

Change his WORSHIP.

Change his LIFESTYLES.

The lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and pride of life.

Convictions = Refusing to COMPROMISE in spite of the cost.

Convictions are caught more than taught

Proverbs 13:20 NKJV
20 He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed.

Courage = Refusing to CONFORM even when you’re afraid.

Grows out of convictions

Romans 4:20–21 NKJV
20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.
Is sustained by our comrades
Proverbs 27:17 NKJV
17 As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.
Romans 12:2 NKJV
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

TRUTH, NOT “TRYING HARDER”, is the Pathway to True Spirituality.

John 8:31–32 NKJV
31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
