BONDAGE IS A HOUSE OF THOUGHTS
Be careful where thoughts come from because where they come from determines where they are going-
Peter met Jesus
He first had to catch a thought-before he caught the fish,
He was a carpenter peter was a fisherman-
You don’t know who Jesus is -YET
Don’t get caught in a thought-
You can only have two that speak on the thought level-
Satan and Jesus
Which one speaks truth?
If you don’t know the truth?
The enemy always attacks your identity- Matthew 4:1-4 NASB[1] Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. [2] And after He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He then became hungry. [3] And the tempter came and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread." [4] But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE, BUT ON EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.'"
We need to know whose we are and who we are-HE ATTACKS YOUR THOUGHTS-BECAUSE ONE THING LEADS TO ANOTHER !
Ephesians 4:20-24 NASB[20] But you did not learn Christ in this way, [21] if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus, [22] that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit
Take the old man off and put on the new man- easy to say but how do we do it -
[23] and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, [24] and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.
ANOTHER PLACE
Romans 12:1-2 NASB[1] Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. [2] And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
2 Corinthians 10:3-6 NASB[3] For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, [4] for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. [5] We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, [6] and we are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete.
Colossians 3:1-4 NASB[1] Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. [2] Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. [3] For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. [4] When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.
2 Corinthians 5:17 NASB[17] Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.
Galatians 2:19-21 NASB[19] For through the Law I died to the Law, so that I might live to God. [20] I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. [21] I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly."
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE SEE,BUT REFUSE TO RECOGNIZE WHO CHRIST IS-
Lets look at someone who had an open door-
Luke 22:3-6 NASB[3] And Satan entered into Judas who was called Iscariot, belonging to the number of the twelve. [4] And he went away and discussed with the chief priests and officers how he might betray Him to them. [5] They were glad and agreed to give him money. [6] So he consented, and began seeking a good opportunity to betray Him to them apart from the crowd.
John 12:5-6 NASB[5] "Why was this perfume not sold for three hundred denarii and given to poor people?" [6] Now he said this, not because he was concerned about the poor, but because he was a thief, and as he had the money box, he used to pilfer what was put into it.
One thing leads to another
Lets say it in another way !
“Watch your thoughts, they become your words; watch your words, they become your actions; watch your actions, they become your habits; watch your habits, they become your character; watch your character, it becomes your destiny.”
THOUGHTS-2 Corinthians 10:5 NASB[5] We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,
WORDS James 3:3-12 NASB[3] Now if we put the bits into the horses' mouths so that they will obey us, we direct their entire body as well. [4] Look at the ships also, though they are so great and are driven by strong winds, are still directed by a very small rudder wherever the inclination of the pilot desires. [5] So also the tongue is a small part of the body, and yet it boasts of great things. See how great a forest is set aflame by such a small fire! [6] And the tongue is a fire, the very world of iniquity; the tongue is set among our members as that which defiles the entire body, and sets on fire the course of our life, and is set on fire by hell. [7] For every species of beasts and birds, of reptiles and creatures of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by the human race. [8] But no one can tame the tongue; it is a restless evil and full of deadly poison. [9] With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness of God; [10] from the same mouth come both blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be this way. [11] Does a fountain send out from the same opening both fresh and bitter water? [12] Can a fig tree, my brethren, produce olives, or a vine produce figs? Nor can salt water produce fresh.
ONE THING LEADS TO ANTOHER –WHERE ARE YOU HEADED
Leviticus 13:45-46 NASB[45] "As for the leper who has the infection, his clothes shall be torn, and the hair of his head shall be uncovered, and he shall cover his mustache and cry, 'Unclean! Unclean!' [46] He shall remain unclean all the days during which he has the infection; he is unclean. He shall live alone; his dwelling shall be outside the camp.
TELL THE STORY
Matthew 8:1-4 NASB[1] When Jesus came down from the mountain, large crowds followed Him. [2] And a leper came to Him and bowed down before Him, and said, "Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean." [3] Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, saying, "I am willing; be cleansed." And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. [4] And Jesus said to him, "See that you tell no one; but go, show yourself to the priest and present the offering that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them."
Romans 5:19 NASB[19] For as through the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous.
