Kid Chat
Revival was just a little taste. We just scratched the surface. It was just 4 meetings. When we change our schedule and center ourselves around the word, God moves us. Grows us. Changes us.
Continue coming to the altar to pray. Continue in the word between Sunday's. Let taco Tuesday become a thing!
Colossians 3:18–25 ESV
18 Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. 19 Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them. 20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. 21 Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged. 22 Bondservants, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not by way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord. 23 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. 25 For the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there is no partiality.

The chief objective of life is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.
What does a revived family and workplace look like?
Authority - It is everywhere. It is healthy. It is necessary.
If our christianity does not work in the family, it does not work.
Husbands - The mirror of God’s word may reflect a disturbing picture
Be the head of your household. A home without a head is an invitation to sin.
What kind of husband did you DECIDE to be? There was that moment, right?
The biblical pattern of what we are supposed to be is . This will be radically counter-cultural. But the culture is not the standard. We can compare and find that we are better than someone. And because of the fallen nature of our rationality, we will search til we do.
Love. The command is love. Does that not fly in the face of the ridiculous notion that love is an uncontrollable emotion?
As Christ loved the church, in that He laid down His life...
It is practical, not theoretical.
When is the last time I did something truly sacrificial for my wife? Sacrificial!
Do I influence her in a way that leads her to be her best for Jesus Christ? Purpose. Freedom. Opportunity.
Wives - submitting to a loving, Christ-centered husband is the most natural, fulfilling, confidence inspiring thing a wife can do. Because of the above mentioned, God given line of authority, it sets the entire family free to thrive inside God’s will.
That word - line - you remember lining up in school? Time for lunch, recess, restroom break and go home? That’s how Paul uses this word submit. To get in the order God established. …As is fitting in the Lord.
When a wife fits into the role God intended, it sets the whole family structure in order. The husband is set free to fill his role. The children are seeing the example of Godly parents, putting them on a path to duplicate this process. To continue the legacy of Godliness.
Children - remember this letter was to be read at the church. Children would, of course be present for the reading. So Paul includes a message to them directly: Children, obey your parents.
In line behind the parents. The dad and the mom are to lead the children and not the other way around.
In the work setting
What does God want this revived family unit to look like?
What if…?
