Breastplate of Righteousness (Guarding your heart)

Ephesians 6:14 NKJV
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

Intro: Today’s Law Enforcement are being killed by some evil people. Some in an execution style, other in shoot outs. So they now have protection gear. Bullet proof vest. But, they have to put on the bullet proof vest if they want to be protected.
The Roman solder had as part his armor, a breastplate.
As Followers of Jesus, we are constantly under attack by the flesh. ELAB By the world. Elab By the devil who wants to discourage us. ELAB the water pipe.
As follower of Jesus our life is a spiritual battle. But; through the power of Jesus, we have the power to stand against the the devil and his schemes, his tricks, and his craftiness
Now today we will look at the breastplate, but in order to have victory against the devil, we must put on the Whole armor of God. Not a suggestion, but he commands us to. VS 11 & 14
The words Paul is speaking here is of Warfare. We see this in the O.T too.
For follower of Jesus our life is a spiritual battle.

1. This is God’s deliverance of His people, and it is described as God putting on the Breastplate of righteousness and helmet of salvation .

c. For the Roman Solder, the breastplate protected the vital organs, especially the heart. A blow to the head would also be fatal. (Later)
d. The breastplate they wore came in different sizes, shapes, different material, but all served the same purpose.
e. We are to put on the Breastplate of righteousness to protect our heart from the fiery darts of the enemy. VS 16
f. The heart is important, right? If your hearts stops pumping you die. But he heart also is an organ that has to do with our emotions.
g. When you get mad your rate increases and your face turns red. When fear sets in, your heart rate slows, and your face turns pale.
HEART: Lets looks at some things of the heart.
