Scripture Reading - Matthew 7:21-27

Believing there is a God does not save you.

No other God will do but the God of the Bible
Even the demons believe in God and shudder and yet Demons are not saved from their sin

Doing good works does not save not save you.

Ephesians 2:8–10 ESV
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:8–9 ESV

Knowing is a term that indicates more than and intellectual knowing about God. Instead it refers to a real live relationship to a person.

Only knowing God and Him knowing us are the grounds for our salvation from sin.

Jesus tells us what we must do.

We must trust him for who he is and what he has done.
We follow his commandments and actually are obedient to his word.

Two possible responses

Matthew 6:19–21 ESV
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Build your house on the Rock

The rock is Christ
Build your life on what Christ has done for you and who he is
Follow his teacingings and your life will have a solid foundation that will not waver when times of trouble come`````````````````

We must build our lives upon the Rock, Jesus Christ and trust in him alone.
