Your Word Endures Forever Psalm 119:160 Sermon Outline: We have had three great sermons on Psalm 119. In this sermon we will bring our study of this psalm to a close as we consider, “Your Word Endures Forever.” I. Truth Will Endure (119:160) A. The whole of God’s Word is truth. 1. “Entirety” = “Sum” = “Whole.” There is no contradiction. The fullness of God’s Word is to be accepted, there is no picking and choosing. 2. God’s Word is called “word” in v. 160, “law” in v. 142, and “commandments” in v. 151. 3. God’s Word is truth, law, and commandments. B. God’s judgments are righteous. 1. “Righteous” denotes that which is right, just, or good (v. 160). God’s Word is good. 2. God is good and His judgments are rooted in His righteousness (v. 142). 3. The goodness of God’s judgments will not change (v. 144), because God does not change. 4. This helps us to understand how Jesus is the Word, the perfect image and revelation of God. C. God’s truth will endure (vv. 152, 160). It cannot be destroyed because it is rooted in Him. II. Truth Will Endure Within Me A. I will seek God’s Word with my eyes (v. 123). B. I will obey, knowing my God’s deliverance (v. 117). C. I will prize God’s Word (vv. 127, 162). D. I will mourn its forsaking by others (vv. 136, 158). E. I will hope in God’s Word (vv. 147-148). F. I will praise God for His Word (vv. 164). G. I will not forget (v. 176). As Christians, we ought to appreciate the endurance of God’s Word. That Word is the Gospel we have obeyed and by which we are saved (1 Peter 1:22-2:3). Let us drink deeply of His Word!!! Church of Christ 3/15/20 pm
