Transitioning from Trouble
to Trust
Purpose for Trouble
Sometimes Trouble is brought on by our Works,
Sometimes Trouble is brought on by the Will of God.
Why would God allow something like this, it is
because He has something in mind that we may not
be aware of, he has a plan at all times. We must
always consider that we see one second of our life at
a time, He sees our whole life at one time. He sees
the big picture. Sometimes our trouble is severe and

sometimes it is just a struggle. Sometimes it is Major
sometimes it is Minor, but we all have struggles. In
this case Mordecai, Esther, and all of the Jews were
facing the biggest struggle of their life.
When something bad happens to us we are tempted
to begin the Why me line of questioning but the
reality the people of God are no stranger to struggles
and suffering. You can look at Genesis and see the
struggles of Joseph and God’s Children, Exodus you
see the Children of Israel suffering and so forth.
If we think for a second we will not suffer in this
world we are deceived. We will suffer here, the
question is do we have the Lord with us in our
suffering.
Some of our struggles we may never know why,
some we may know now, some we may find out
later.
In this story, the people of God suffered because
wicked Haman got made because someone would
not bow down to him. He then not just took it out
upon Mordecai but all Jews. They Suffered under
Ungodly leadership, sometimes we suffer under
ungodly leadership. Always remember the Lord if

Perception of Trouble
Esther 4:1 KJV 1900

Mordecai rent his clothes, and put on sackcloth with
ashes, and went out into the midst of the city, and

Pull to the Words of Prayer
“cried with a loud and bitter cry”
Pining in Trouble
Esther 4:1–4 KJV 1900
1 When Mordecai perceived all that was done,
Mordecai rent his clothes, and put on sackcloth
with ashes, and went out into the midst of the
city, and cried with a loud and a bitter cry;
2 And came even before the king’s gate: for none
might enter into the king’s gate clothed with
sackcloth.
3 And in every province, whithersoever the king’s
commandment and his decree came, there was
great mourning among the Jews, and fasting, and
weeping, and wailing; and many lay in sackcloth
and ashes.
4 So Esther’s maids and her chamberlains came
and told it her. Then was the queen exceedingly
grieved; and she sent raiment to clothe Mordecai,
and to take away his sackcloth from him: but he
received it not.

Prayer in Trouble leads to Trusting
Esther 4:1 KJV 1900
1 When Mordecai perceived all that was done,
Mordecai rent his clothes, and put on sackcloth
with ashes, and went out into the midst of the
city, and cried with a loud and a bitter cry;
Esther 4:3–4 KJV 1900
3 And in every province, whithersoever the king’s
commandment and his decree came, there was
great mourning among the Jews, and fasting, and
weeping, and wailing; and many lay in sackcloth
and ashes.
4 So Esther’s maids and her chamberlains came
and told it her. Then was the queen exceedingly
grieved; and she sent raiment to clothe Mordecai,
and to take away his sackcloth from him: but he
received it not.
I believe these phrases indicate that there would
have been prayer occuring even though it is not
directly said. Mordecai was a man that the Lord
revealed things to and used so it is assumed that
he would have been a man of prayer.
Fasting Indicates Prayer, the two go hand in hand.
I believe that Mordecai was a Godly man, and
when Godly men mourn they pray, I must believe

that this is enough evidence to support his prayer.
Esther sent him new clothes, but it was not
clothes he was needing. He was deeply troubled
ans when someone is deeply troubled the things
or toys of this world will not console you. It takes
Jesus.
Psalm 55:22 KJV 1900
22 Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall
sustain thee: He shall never suffer the righteous
to be moved.
1 Peter 5:7 KJV 1900
7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for
you.
Matthew 11:28 KJV 1900
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy
laden, and I will give you rest.

Investigation
Esther 4:5 KJV 1900
5 Then called Esther for Hatach, one of the king’s
chamberlains, whom he had appointed to attend
upon her, and gave him a commandment to
Mordecai, to know what it was, and why it was.

Esther 4:6 KJV 1900

Information
Esther 4:7–8 KJV 1900
7 And Mordecai told him of all that had happened
unto him, and of the sum of the money that
Haman had promised to pay to the king’s
treasuries for the Jews, to destroy them.
8 Also he gave him the copy of the writing of the
decree that was given at Shushan to destroy
them, to shew it unto Esther, and to declare it
unto her, and to charge her that she should go in
unto the king, to make supplication unto him, and
to make request before him for her people.

Esther 4:11–12 KJV 1900
11 All the king’s servants, and the people of the
king’s provinces, do know, that whosoever,
whether man or woman, shall come unto the king
into the inner court, who is not called, there is one
law of his to put him to death, except such to
whom the king shall hold out the golden sceptre,
that he may live: but I have not been called to
come in unto the king these thirty days.
12 And they told to Mordecai Esther’s words.
Petition to Trust
Esther 4:13–14 KJV 1900
13 Then Mordecai commanded to answer Esther,
Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the
king’s house, more than all the Jews.
14 For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this
time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance
arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and
thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who
knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for
such a time as this?

God gave word to Azariah (Prophet) to give to Asa
(King) in 2 Chr 15:1-7 that was specifically to Asa,
but I feel we can also apply some of it to us today.

Problem with Trusting
Esther 4:15–16 KJV 1900
15 Then Esther bade them return Mordecai this
answer,
16 Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in
Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor
drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens
will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king,
which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I
perish.
When we have a lack a faith it leads to trusting,
perhaps she had been too long with the King and
her faith had weakened
When you are hanging out in the world, listening
to the world it wears on your faith
The way to re mediate the Problem with trusting
is in Prayer
