The Awaiting of Esther
Esther 5:1 KJV 1900
1 Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther
put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner
court of the king’s house, over against the king’s
house: and the king sat upon his royal throne in
the royal house, over against the gate of the
house.

Patience
She had waited the agreed upon three days,
for Prayer and Fasting
Before taking big steps into uncertainty we
should always take a few minutes to pray
Isaiah 40:31 KJV 1900
31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall
renew their strength; They shall mount up with
wings as eagles; They shall run, and not be
weary; And they shall walk, and not faint.
Psalm 27:14 KJV 1900
14 Wait on the Lord: Be of good courage, and
he shall strengthen thine heart: Wait, I say, on
the Lord.
Punctuality
Once the three days had passed she took
action
Isaiah 49:8 KJV 1900
8 Thus saith the Lord, In an acceptable time
have I heard thee, And in a day of salvation
have I helped thee: And I will preserve thee,
and give thee for a covenant of the people, To
establish the earth, to cause to inherit the
desolate heritages;
Don’t Dash
Don’t Delay
We need to embrace Preparation and not
Procrastination
The Lord wasn’t late at the Red Sea, nor was
he late with Lazarus so he will not be late with
us

While considering procrastination let us
remember the 10 virgins
Matthew 25:1–13 KJV 1900
1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened
unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and
went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2 And five of them were wise, and five were
foolish.
3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and
took no oil with them:
4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their
lamps.
5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all
slumbered and slept.
6 And at midnight there was a cry made,
Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to
meet him.
7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed
their lamps.
8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of
your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest
there be not enough for us and you: but go ye
rather to them that sell, and buy for
yourselves.
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom
came; and they that were ready went in with
him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

11 Afterward came also the other virgins,
saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto
you, I know you not.
13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day
nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
The Adorning of Esther
Isaiah 61:10 KJV 1900
10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, My soul
shall be joyful in my God; For he hath clothed
me with the garments of salvation, He hath
covered me with the robe of righteousness, As
a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments,
And as a bride adorneth herself with her
jewels.
The Appearance of Esther
Esther 5:1 KJV 1900
1 Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther
put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner
court of the king’s house, over against the king’s

the royal house, over against the gate of the
house.
She stood where she could be seen of the king

we following afar off

It took great courage to come before the king
without being summoned. She could have lost
her life.
We don’t have to be summoned to come
before Jesus, and Jesus desires to come into
his presence without having to be called,
however I would add that Jesus is calling us
into His presence
The Lord desires for you to be in his presence
“seek and ye shall find”
We should always be close enough to Jesus to
be seen of Him
When was the last time you were in the
presence of the Lord
The Affection for Esther
Esther 5:2 KJV 1900
2 And it was so, when the king saw Esther the
queen standing in the court, that she obtained
favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther
the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther
drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.
She obtained favor in the kings sight
He didn’t have to see her, he chose for her to
come unto him
The King Loved Esther and he had compassion
for her
Jesus has compassion for you, he desires for
you to come unto him.

Matthew 11:28–30 KJV 1900
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are
heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for
I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find
rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
The Acceptance of Esther
Esther 5:2 KJV 1900
2 And it was so, when the king saw Esther the
queen standing in the court, that she obtained
favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther
the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther
drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.
By the king holding out the sceptre it
symbolized authority as well as acceptance
If we will call upon Jesus and begin a
relationship with Him, He accepts us
Many today seek acceptance, don’t try to find
acceptance in the world, it will not work. You
can find acceptance in the arms of Jesus.
Romans 10:13 KJV 1900
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of
the Lord shall be saved.
John 3:16 KJV 1900
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his
only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth
in him should not perish, but have everlasting
life.

Jesus will accept you, you just need to be
adorned and approach Him
• Acceptance is not found at the bottom of a
bottle though the world makes it seem that
way
• Acceptance is not found at the tip of a
needle though the world makes it seem
that way
• Acceptance is not found with a crack pipe
though the world makes it seem that way
• Acceptance is not found rolled up in a joint
though the world makes it seem that way
• Acceptance is not found inside of sexual
sins though the world makes it seem that
way
All these things will leave you feeling empty
inside and unfulfilled
Man and Woman seek acceptance in the ways
of the world because the world allows them to
do as they wish.
True acceptance is found in the arms of Jesus
The Approach of Esther
Esther 5:2 KJV 1900
2 And it was so, when the king saw Esther the
queen standing in the court, that she obtained
favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther
the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther
drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.
Esther came into the presence of the king,
have you came into the presence of the King?

are you in the presence of the King now?
How close are you to Jesus.
She came close enough to be in contact with
the King
Are you close enough to be in contact with the
King of Kings
Don’t be afraid to approach Jesus, if you will
approach Jesus you will be accepted
Take the Risk of approaching Jesus, you will
find great reward
James 4:8 KJV 1900
8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to
you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify
your hearts, ye double minded.
Psalm 73:28 KJV 1900
28 But it is good for me to draw near to God: I
have put my trust in the Lord God, That I may
declare all thy works.
Hebrews 10:22 KJV 1900
22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full
assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled
from an evil conscience, and our bodies
washed with pure water.
Isaiah 55:6 KJV 1900
6 Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, Call
ye upon him while he is near:
Matthew 9:21–22 KJV 1900
21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch
his garment, I shall be whole.
22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he
saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good
comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And

Mark 10:46–52 KJV 1900
46 And they came to Jericho: and as he went
out of Jericho with his disciples and a great
number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son
of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.
47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of
Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus,
thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
48 And many charged him that he should hold
his peace: but he cried the more a great deal,
Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
49 And Jesus stood still, and commanded him
to be called. And they call the blind man,
saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he
calleth thee.
50 And he, casting away his garment, rose, and
came to Jesus.
51 And Jesus answered and said unto him, What
wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind
man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive
my sight.
52 And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy
faith hath made thee whole. And immediately
he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the
way.

Esther
Esther 5:3 KJV 1900
3 Then said the king unto her, What wilt thou,
queen Esther? and what is thy request? it shall be
even given thee to the half of the kingdom.
The king asked her what she wanted, what
what her request, what was her desire
He addressed her as Queen, he was saying my
bride, she belonged to him
If we are a born again Child of God we are the
Bride of Christ
As a believer when we come into the presence
of Jesus, and we come into His presence with
the right intentions and right attitude as a
believer He will give is our hearts desires
Psalm 37:4 KJV 1900
4 Delight thyself also in the Lord; And he shall
give thee the desires of thine heart.
Our King grants requests
Matthew 21:22 KJV 1900
22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in
prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
Matthew 7:7–8 KJV 1900
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye
shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto
you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he
that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh
it shall be opened.

The Parties of Esther
Appreciation of Haman
Esther 5:4 KJV 1900
4 And Esther answered, If it seem good unto the
king, let the king and Haman come this day unto
the banquet that I have prepared for him.
Esther is honoring Haman but in actuality she
is setting him up.
Many have speculated why she didn’t just tell
the King up front but the reality is she didn’t.
Perhaps she was afraid, or, perhaps she didn’t
feel the time was right, or perhaps she was
trying to build more favor with the king and
set this up right.
Alacrity (rapid response) of
Haman
Esther 5:5 KJV 1900
5 Then the king said, Cause Haman to make haste,
that he may do as Esther hath said. So the king
and Haman came to the banquet that Esther had
prepared.
Hurry up Haman

Award of Esther
Esther 5:6 KJV 1900
6 And the king said unto Esther at the banquet of
wine, What is thy petition? and it shall be granted
thee: and what is thy request? even to the half of
the kingdom it shall be performed.
Once again the king ask her what she wanted,
up to half of the kingdom
He even tells her that he will give her what she
asks for
How many times does Jesus tell us he will give
us what we ask for but we don’t ask
Matthew 7:7 KJV 1900
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye
shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto
you:
Jesus couldn’t be any clearer than this
Shouldn’t we tell the Lord what we desire?
Matthew 18:19 KJV 1900
19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall
agree on earth as touching any thing that they
shall ask, it shall be done for them of my
Father which is in heaven.
John 14:14 KJV 1900
14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do
it.
John 15:7 KJV 1900
7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you,
ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done
unto you.

Psalm 91:15 KJV 1900
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I
will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him,
and honour him.
Isaiah 65:24 KJV 1900
24 And it shall come to pass, that before they
call, I will answer; And while they are yet
speaking, I will hear.
Answer and Appeal of Ester
Esther 5:7–8 KJV 1900
7 Then answered Esther, and said, My petition and
my request is;
8 If I have found favour in the sight of the king,
and if it please the king to grant my petition, and
to perform my request, let the king and Haman
come to the banquet that I shall prepare for them,
and I will do to morrow as the king hath said.
Again we see her holding back and not sharing
the depths of her heart.
I trust that she knew what she was doing and
there was a valid reason for not saying the true
request.
Do you have a valid reason for not pouring
your heart out to the Lord? Have you poured
your heart out to the Lord and shared your
requests for him?

The Personalities of
Haman
The Adieu of Haman
Esther 5:9 KJV 1900
9 Then went Haman forth that day joyful and with
a glad heart: but when Haman saw Mordecai in
the king’s gate, that he stood not up, nor moved
for him, he was full of indignation against
Mordecai.
So, Haman departed and went forth from the
King and Queen
The Amusement of Haman
Esther 5:9 KJV 1900
9 Then went Haman forth that day joyful and with
a glad heart: but when Haman saw Mordecai in
the king’s gate, that he stood not up, nor moved
for him, he was full of indignation against
Mordecai.
Haman had a joyful and happy heart
This joy was not true joy, it was a superficial
joy. This joy was found in worldly pleasures.
The only place you can find True Joy is in Jesus.
Haman’s Happiness will filled with Arrogance
and Ignorance
John 15:11 KJV 1900
11 These things have I spoken unto you, that
my joy might remain in you, and that your joy

might be full.
John 16:24 KJV 1900
24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name:
ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be
full.
Jesus wants us to have joy in our lives but he
desires that Joy be founded in him
Haman’s Happiness was going to be shortlived. Just like the joy or pleasures of sin is
short-lived
Hebrews 11:25 KJV 1900
25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the
people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of
sin for a season;

Rage
Esther 5:9 KJV 1900

indignation against Mordecai.

Esther 5:10 KJV 1900

when he came home, he sent and called for his

down and honors him (making his Ego even
bigger) then Mordecai appears. Mordecai
don’t stand up and didn’t even move for him.
He snapped, so much for the Happy Haman,
now he is the Hate Filled Haman
However, he was in too good of mood and too
happy for Mordecai to pull him down so he
remained in control and went on home.
The Arrogance of Haman
Esther 5:10–12 KJV 1900
10 Nevertheless Haman refrained himself: and
when he came home, he sent and called for his
friends, and Zeresh his wife.
11 And Haman told them of the glory of his riches,
and the multitude of his children, and all the
things wherein the king had promoted him, and
how he had advanced him above the princes and
servants of the king.
12 Haman said moreover, Yea, Esther the queen
did let no man come in with the king unto the
banquet that she had prepared but myself; and to
morrow am I invited unto her also with the king.

Psalm 126:3 KJV 1900
3 The Lord hath done great things for us;
Whereof we are glad.
When we brag on what we have done it takes
away from what the Lord has done, the reality
is that we are nothing without the Lord. Let us
praise Him, honor Him, Recognize Him,
Rejoice in Him.

He Boasted to his Friends and his
Wife
He Boasted and Bragged in a few main areas,
first his finances, his family, his fame, his food
or feast, as well as his favor
Nothing wrong with having good finances but
be careful not to love that or depend solely on
them.
1 Timothy 6:10 KJV 1900
10 For the love of money is the root of all evil:
which while some coveted after, they have
erred from the faith, and pierced themselves
through with many sorrows.
Nothing wrong with having a good family, I
think everyone should have a good family and
love your family
Psalm 127:3–5 KJV 1900
3 Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: And
the fruit of the womb is his reward.
4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man;
So are children of the youth.
5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of
them: They shall not be ashamed, But they
shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
Nothing wrong with having fame, but it don’t
last
Mark 8:36 KJV 1900

the whole world, and lose his own soul?

the favor of God over the favor of men

understanding In the sight of God and man.
1 Samuel 2:26 KJV 1900

The Ambition of Haman
Esther 5:11 KJV 1900
11 And Haman told them of the glory of his riches,
and the multitude of his children, and all the
things wherein the king had promoted him, and
how he had advanced him above the princes and
servants of the king.
Haman was a very ambitious person trying to
climb the ladder. There is nothing wrong with
ambition but we need Godly ambitions
