They were Assembled for Battle “Now in the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar, on the thirteenth day of the same, when the king’s commandment and his decree drew near to be put in execution” The time is now that Christians unite and set aside our differences The time is now that the Church unite and set aside our differences The time is now that the Country unite and set aside our differences Acts 1:14 KJV 1900 14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren. Romans 12:5 KJV 1900 5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. 1 Corinthians 12:12 KJV 1900 12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. *United not Divided They were Adorned for Battle Exported from Logos Bible Software, 10:11 PM March 20, 2020. 3 Armored We don’t know what they would have had for armor but they would surely had rounded up what ever the Lord had provided for them to protect themselves and their familes We do know what the Lord has provided for us to be Armored with Ephesians 6:10–17 KJV 1900 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the Exported from Logos Bible Software, 10:11 PM March 20, 2020. 4 sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Armed We don’t know what they had to defend themselves but I am certain they came up with what every tools or sword they could find to protect against the enemy They did have Swords “Jews smote all their enemies with the stroke of the sword” We do know what the Lord has provided for us Ephesians 6:17–18 KJV 1900 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; The Regions of the Rally “all” All 127 Providences The Responsibility to Rally IF you are a Born Again Child of God you are to Rally the believers Acts 11:23–24 KJV 1900 23 Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord. 24 For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added Exported from Logos Bible Software, 10:11 PM March 20, 2020. 5 unto the Lord. Favor the Jews “And all the rulers of the provinces, and the lieutenants, and the deputies, and officers of the king, helped the Jews” God made their Adversaries to become Allies Proverbs 16:7 KJV 1900 7 When a man’s ways please the Lord, He maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him. Fear of the Jews “because the fear of Mordecai fell upon them” Fame of the Jews “For Mordecai was great in the king’s house, and his fame went out throughout all the provinces: for this man Mordecai waxed greater and greater” Exported from Logos Bible Software, 10:11 PM March 20, 2020. 6 Furtherance of the Jews “greater and greater” The Retaliation of the Jews v 5-16 Esther 9:5–14 KJV 1900 5 Thus the Jews smote all their enemies with the stroke of the sword, and slaughter, and destruction, and did what they would unto those that hated them. 6 And in Shushan the palace the Jews slew and destroyed five hundred men. 7 And Parshandatha, and Dalphon, and Aspatha, 8 And Poratha, and Adalia, and Aridatha, 9 And Parmashta, and Arisai, and Aridai, and Vajezatha, 10 The ten sons of Haman the son of Hammedatha, the enemy of the Jews, slew they; but on the spoil laid they not their hand. 11 On that day the number of those that were slain in Shushan the palace was brought before the king. 12 And the king said unto Esther the queen, The Jews have slain and destroyed five hundred men in Shushan the palace, and the ten sons of Haman; what have they done in the rest of the king’s provinces? now what is thy petition? and it shall be granted thee: or what is thy request further? and it shall be done. 13 Then said Esther, If it please the king, let it be granted to the Jews which are in Shushan to do to morrow also Exported from Logos Bible Software, 10:11 PM March 20, 2020. 7 according unto this day’s decree, and let Haman’s ten sons be hanged upon the gallows. 14 And the king commanded it so to be done: and the decree was given at Shushan; and they hanged Haman’s ten sons. Esther 9:15–16 KJV 1900 15 For the Jews that were in Shushan gathered themselves together on the fourteenth day also of the month Adar, and slew three hundred men at Shushan; but on the prey they laid not their hand. 16 But the other Jews that were in the king’s provinces gathered themselves together, and stood for their lives, and had rest from their enemies, and slew of their foes seventy and five thousand, but they laid not their hands on the prey, The Jews were Superior “No Man could withstand them” As a Born Again Believer we are Victors 1 Corinthians 15:57 KJV 1900 57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 John 5:4 KJV 1900 4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Romans 8:38–39 KJV 1900 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is Exported from Logos Bible Software, 10:11 PM March 20, 2020. 8 in Christ Jesus our Lord. John 16:33 KJV 1900 33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. 1 John 4:4 KJV 1900 4Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Revelation 17:14 KJV 1900 14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. The Jews were Successful • 127 Providences • 0 Jews that I could find died • 10 sons of Haman hanged on a tree, they likely hanged on the same gallows Haman was hanged on which were meant for Mordecai. They also would likely had been left hanging for further disgrace and deterrent/discouragement from attacking the Jews. • 500 killed in Sushan the 1st day • 300 killed in Sushan the 2nd day • 75,000 killed in the other providences When you are in the Lord’s army you can take 300 into battle and win When you are in the Lord’s army you can walk around the city to destroy the walls Exported from Logos Bible Software, 10:11 PM March 20, 2020. 9 When you are in the Lord’s army you can dwell in the Lions den When you are in the Lord’s army you can walk thru fire When you are in the Lord’s army you can walk on the bottom of the Red Sea on dry ground The Jews Suppressed “But on the spoil laid they not their hand” The Jews refused to take of the spoils of the battles Joshua 6:18 KJV 1900 18 And ye, in any wise keep yourselves from the accursed thing, lest ye make yourselves accursed, when ye take of the accursed thing, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it. The Lord wants us to depend on him for our provisions, not by depending on the things of the world The Reflection of the Jews v 17-32 Esther 9:17–19 KJV 1900 17 On the thirteenth day of the month Adar; and on the fourteenth day of the same rested they, and made it a day of feasting and gladness. 18 But the Jews that were at Shushan assembled together on the thirteenth day thereof, and on the fourteenth thereof; and on the fifteenth day of the same they rested, and made it a day of feasting and gladness. 19 Therefore the Jews of the villages, that dwelt in the Exported from Logos Bible Software, 10:11 PM March 20, 2020. 10 unwalled towns, made the fourteenth day of the month Adar a day of gladness and feasting, and a good day, and of sending portions one to another. Resting “they rested” After our Spiritual Battles we should find a time of resting We should be sure to take time off, it is a good thing to work but we need time to rest. Every night I try to make my way to bed at 9pm and be asleep before 10pm as I wake up at 4am. This ensures I get 6 hours of sleep then on Saturdays I try to still be asleep by the same time but sleep in till 6am Esther 9:22–23 KJV 1900 22 As the days wherein the Jews rested from their enemies, and the month which was turned unto them from sorrow to joy, and from mourning into a good day: that they should make them days of feasting and joy, and of sending portions one to another, and gifts to the poor. 23 And the Jews undertook to do as they had begun, and as Mordecai had written unto them; Matthew 11:28–30 KJV 1900 28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Exported from Logos Bible Software, 10:11 PM March 20, 2020. 11 Psalm 37:7 KJV 1900 7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: Fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, Because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Jeremiah 6:16 KJV 1900 16 Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. Refueling “day of feasting” After a battle our spiritual bodies are depleted and need refueling and we need to refuel Luke 9:16–17 KJV 1900 16 Then he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude. 17 And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets. John 6:35 KJV 1900 35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. Rejoicing “gladness” Enjoy the Good part Don’t be Martha always worrying about everything Exported from Logos Bible Software, 10:11 PM March 20, 2020. 12 being perfect, enjoy the good part. It is easy to get caught here when you are a church leader but we are to enjoy worship. 1 Peter 4:12–13 KJV 1900 12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. Acts 16:25 KJV 1900 25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. Acts 5:41 KJV 1900 41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name. Recording Esther 9:20–21 KJV 1900 20 And Mordecai wrote these things, and sent letters unto all the Jews that were in all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, both nigh and far, 21 To stablish this among them, that they should keep the fourteenth day of the month Adar, and the fifteenth day of the same, yearly, Remembering (Purim) Remember the Plot Esther 9:24 KJV 1900 24 Because Haman the son of Hammedatha, the Exported from Logos Bible Software, 10:11 PM March 20, 2020. 13 Agagite, the enemy of all the Jews, had devised against the Jews to destroy them, and had cast Pur, that is, the lot, to consume them, and to destroy them; Remember the Protection Esther 9:25 KJV 1900 25 But when Esther came before the king, he commanded by letters that his wicked device, which he devised against the Jews, should return upon his own head, and that he and his sons should be hanged on the gallows. Isaiah 41:10 KJV 1900 10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: Be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; Yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Psalm 28:7 KJV 1900 7 The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in him, and I am helped: Therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; And with my song will I praise him. Isaiah 43:1–2 KJV 1900 1 But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, And he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. 2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: When thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; Neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. Remember Purim Exported from Logos Bible Software, 10:11 PM March 20, 2020. 14 Esther 9:26–28 KJV 1900 26 Wherefore they called these days Purim after the name of Pur. Therefore for all the words of this letter, and of that which they had seen concerning this matter, and which had come unto them, 27 The Jews ordained, and took upon them, and upon their seed, and upon all such as joined themselves unto them, so as it should not fail, that they would keep these two days according to their writing, and according to their appointed time every year; 28 And that these days should be remembered and kept throughout every generation, every family, every province, and every city; and that these days of Purim should not fail from among the Jews, nor the memorial of them perish from their seed. Remember Permanently Esther 9:29–32 KJV 1900 29 Then Esther the queen, the daughter of Abihail, and Mordecai the Jew, wrote with all authority, to confirm this second letter of Purim. 30 And he sent the letters unto all the Jews, to the hundred twenty and seven provinces of the kingdom of Ahasuerus, with words of peace and truth, 31 To confirm these days of Purim in their times appointed, according as Mordecai the Jew and Esther the queen had enjoined them, and as they had decreed for themselves and for their seed, the matters of the fastings and their cry. Exported from Logos Bible Software, 10:11 PM March 20, 2020. 15 32 And the decree of Esther confirmed these matters of Purim; and it was written in the book.
