Don't Panic
How long will things be this way?
THE burden which Habakkuk the prophet did see.
2 O LORD, bhow long shall I ccry, and thou wilt not hear!
Even cdcry out unto thee of deviolence, and thou wilt not save!
THE burden which Habakkuk the prophet did see.
2 O LORD, bhow long shall I ccry, and thou wilt not hear!
Even cdcry out unto thee of deviolence, and thou wilt not save!
Why are things like this?
Why dost thou shew me finiquity, and cause me to behold fgrievance?
For gspoiling and efviolence are before me:
And there are that raise up fstrife and contention.
4 Therefore the law his slacked, and judgment doth never go forth:
For ithe wicked doth kcompass about the righteous;
Therefore ||wrong judgment proceedeth.
Why does the Lord show us iniquity and injustice? It is to deliver us from it. If God has broken our heart, he has broken it to give us a new one. If he has killed us by the law, he has killed us to make us alive by the gospel. If he has wounded us in our conscience, he has done it that he may have room to pour in the oil and the relief of Christ Jesus. If he has stripped us, he has only pulled off our rags that he may put on us a perfect robe of spotless righteousness.
“Why does the way of the godless prosper, all lawbreakers flourish?”7
he says this because of the anguish of his mind, unaware that gold is refined by fire and that the three youths came forth from the furnace purer than when they entered.
How will God make it better?
Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and mwonder marvellously:
For I will work a work in your days,
Which ye will not believe, though it be told you.
For I am doing something in your days
that you will not believel
when you hear about it.m
For I am doing something in your days
that you will not believel
when you hear about it.
And we know that kall things work together lfor good to them that love God, to them mwho are the called according to his npurpose.
Behold, pI make all things new. And he said unto me, qWrite: for rthese words are true and faithful. 6 And he said unto me, sIt is done. tI am Alpha and Omega, tthe beginning and the end. uI will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life vfreely.
