1 “O Israel,” says the Lord,
“if you wanted to return to me, you could.
You could throw away your detestable idols
and stray away no more.
2 Then when you swear by my name, saying,
‘As surely as the Lord lives,’
, 3:22
you could do so
with truth, justice, and righteousness.
Then you would be a blessing to the nations of the world,
and all people would come and praise my name.”
Coming Judgment against Judah
3 This is what the Lord says to the people of Judah and Jerusalem:
“O Israel,” says the Lord, “if you wanted to return to me, you could. You could throw away your detestable idols and stray away no more. Then when you swear by my name, saying, ‘As surely as the Lord lives,’ you could do so with truth, justice, and righteousness. Then you would be a blessing to the nations of the world, and all people would come and praise my name.” This is what the Lord says to the people of Judah and Jerusalem: “Plow up the hard ground of your hearts! Do not waste your good seed among thorns. O people of Judah and Jerusalem, surrender your pride and power. Change your hearts before the Lord, or my anger will burn like an unquenchable fire because of all your sins.“My wayward children,” says the Lord, “come back to me, and I will heal your wayward hearts.” “Yes, we’re coming,” the people reply, “for you are the Lord our God.

22 “My wayward children,” says the Lord,
“come back to me, and I will heal your wayward hearts.”
“Yes, we’re coming,” the people reply,
“for you are the Lord our God.

I want to explain what I mean by the term “rededication.” By this term I do not mean to promise God things that you will never do. By this term I mean that we are to confess sin and return unto the Lord God with all of our beings. This message today is to those that are saved and know Jesus.......AMEN

I. WHY SHOULD WE REDEDICATE OUR LIVES TO THE LORD?

We Should rededicate our lives Because of unconfessed sin. tells us: “If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth.” “If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts."

If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.

WE SHOULD REDEDICATE OUR LIVES TO THE LORD BECAUSE OF ISSUES IN THE CHURCH. PAUL TELLS US IN:

1 Dear brothers and sisters, when I was with you I couldn’t talk to you as I would to spiritual people. I had to talk as though you belonged to this world or as though you were infants in Christ. 2 I had to feed you with milk, not with solid food, because you weren’t ready for anything stronger. And you still aren’t ready, 3 for you are still controlled by your sinful nature. You are jealous of one another and quarrel with each other. Doesn’t that prove you are controlled by your sinful nature? Aren’t you living like people of the world?

WE SHOULD REDEDICATE OUR LIVES Because of the hardness of our hearts. Does our hard hearts keep us from loving others? OF COURSE IT DOES! JESUS TELLS HIS DISCIPLES--- “34 So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. 35 Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”

WE SHOULD REDEDICATE OUR LIVES -Because we have forsaken God. Paul tells us in “They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!”

5 They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that! There is formality without power in many churches today. .

WE SHOULD REDEDICATE OUR LIVES ---Because there is work to do for God, “ We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work.”

So, during this time of this “Virus” is there any work that God is calling you to do?

1. Men are dying in sin.

2. The church needs to be busy winning souls. The early church is an example. . Every man a soul winner.

II. WHO SHOULD WE BE CONFESSING OUR SINS TO IN OUR RE DEDICATION?

To our Advocate, Christ Jesus. “9 But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.”

9 But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

(NLT) 1 My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous.

1 My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous.

Just Thursday evening, I finished reading the OT again, I love the OT. Repeatedly, God instructs us through His prophets to “HUMBLE OURSELVES AND REPENT” LIKE JOHN THE BAPTIST IN THE NT. WE ARE TO HUMBLE OURSELVES, “REMOVE THE PRIDE” THAT WE HAVE IN OUR HEARTS THEN WE CAN “REDEDICATE/HUMBLE” OURSELVES TO OUR FATHER

Christ is the only mediator between God and man. So....if we want to “rededicate” our lives we must go to Jesus..... “For, There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus.”

When David sinned, he confessed unto God. “Against you, and you alone, have I sinned; I have done what is evil in your sight. You will be proved right in what you say, and your judgment against me is just. Man would not have understood, nor been able to forgive.” So was David “rededicating” himself to God? Of course he was. Have you?

4 Against you, and you alone, have I sinned; I have done what is evil in your sight. You will be proved right in what you say, and your judgment against me is just. Man would not have understood, nor been able to forgive

III. WHAT WILL GOD DO WHEN CHRISTIANS REDEDICATE THEIR LIVES?

tells us: “Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.”------This verse describes the conditions of rededication and declares the results.”

14 Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. This verse describes the conditions of rededication and declares the results.

So God is setting up the playing field here, Can’t you just see God telling us: If you want to REDEDICATE” YOURSELVES, THESE ARE THE CONDITIONS.”

HOW MANY OF US PRAY FOR WISDOM? HOW MANY OF US STOP AND LISTEN WHEN GOD BLESSES US WITH WISDOM? WE GET IN A HURRY, WE ARE IMPATIENT, WE WANT IT NOW.

1. Church, “Humble yourself.” Let your Pride be gone, Let your hearts be submissive.

2. Church, Pray. Talk to me.....THEN LISTEN

3. Church, (believers) Seek my Face. God says, “Put Me first, Think of others and stop being selfish.

4. People, Turn from your evil-wicked ways. Stop your sinning, all or you.

THE RESULTS OF OUR RE DEDICATION WILL BE:

1. “I will hear.”—Prayers.

2. “I will forgive.”—Christians.

3. “I will heal.”—Sinners will be saved.

IV. WHAT HAPPENS TO US CHRISTIAN WHEN WE REDEDICATE OUR LIVES TO CHRIST?

“10 Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. 11 Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you. 13 Then I will teach your ways to rebels, and they will return to you.

10 Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. 11 Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you. 13 Then I will teach your ways to rebels, and they will return to you.

A. He will teach transgressors God’s way.

We as Christians, believers in Jesus, will win lost sinners to God.

IN CLOSING, “If a Christian (YOU AND I) have not been doing this, winning others to Christ, we need to be rededicating our lives to God right now.
