THREE RESPONSES TO GOD’S CALL

JONAH:

HERE I ’m Not Going.

“Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before me.” 3 But Jonah ran away from the Lord...

Jonah 1:2–3 ESV

2 “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and call out against it, for their evil has come up before me.” 3 But Jonah rose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. He went down to Joppa and found a ship going to Tarshish. So he paid the fare and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish, away from the presence of the Lord.

MOSES:

HERE I AM. Send Someone Else.

So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.” 11 But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?”

Exodus 3:10–11 ESV

10 Come, I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.” 11 But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?”

ISAIAH:

HERE I AM. Send Me.

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

Isaiah 6:8 ESV

8 And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.”

How do we get there with this atitude before God.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO FULLY SURRENDER TO GOD?

A GENUINE EXPERIENCE WITH THE PRESENCE OF GOD.

In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple.

Isaiah 6:1 ESV

1 In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple.

Holy , Holy, Holy is the Lord God almighty and He saw the presence of God it completely transformed him.

Why is it you don’t find yourself available, “here i am, send me” it’s because you have not experience the presence of God.

If you draw near to God He will draw near to you!!!

when you experience His presence you will never be the same.

A GENUINE AWARENESS OF YOUR SINFULNESS.

“Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.”

Isaiah 6:5 ESV

5 And I said: “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!”

Lie “I am a good person, we’re good people”

When he saw Gods Holyness he saw that he was a sinful man. “with unclean lips”

A GENUINE UNDERSTANDING OF GOD’S GRACE.

Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. 7 With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.”

Isaiah 6:6–7 ESV

6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a burning coal that he had taken with tongs from the altar. 7 And he touched my mouth and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for.”

When we understand that God has made me new and with all my sin forgave, i just have to say “here i am, send ME”

“Whom shall I send?... “Here am I. Send me!”
