Thoughts:
What does wisdom have to say about how we respond in Crisis?
The Book of Proverbs has a lot to say about how we live our life daily. But what about in a crisis situation? What specifically can we adhere to in Proverbs in this time? What would it say to us? Wisdom is what we need, especially in times of stress and uncertainty.
Wisdom & Folly
Wisdom & Folly
3 The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it.
Prov 26:12-
12 Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him. 13 The sluggard says, “There is a lion in the road! There is a lion in the streets!” 14 As a door turns on its hinges, so does a sluggard on his bed. 15 The sluggard buries his hand in the dish; it wears him out to bring it back to his mouth. 16 The sluggard is wiser in his own eyes than seven men who can answer sensibly.
5 He who gathers in summer is a prudent son, but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who brings shame.
13 The sluggard says, “There is a lion in the road! There is a lion in the streets!”
Prov 10:
16 Every prudent man acts with knowledge, but a fool flaunts his folly.
20 Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.
13 If one gives an answer before he hears, it is his folly and shame.
22 Good sense is a fountain of life to him who has it, but the instruction of fools is folly.
3 The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it.
We can only plan a day at a time right now:
1 Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.
Wisdom comes from a “Fear of the Lord.”
Starting point.
7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Jesus is greater than Solomon (the author of Proverbs)
42 The queen of the South will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, something greater than Solomon is here.
