God Quarantined before Quarantine was Cool (Devo)

This “self-quarantine” thing is an interesting, perspective shifting experience. After getting back from the Panama mission trip I immediately went into “self-quarantine” for the prescribed 14 to 15 days.

I am naturally an introvert and after being away from my family for a week and a half I was not bothered by it at all. It was a blessing to be able to spent all the time with them (even though they had to be quarantined themselves because of it.) I know extroverts and others who like to be going all the time who were going stir crazy but I did not mind it.

This “self-quarantine” thing is an interesting and perspective shifting experience.

During this time of being self-quarantined I have thought a number of times about how God had laws of quarantine and sanitation in the Old Testament to prevent the spread of disease or sickness.

The amazing thing is that these laws were given thousands of years before mankind knew anything about bacteria and the transmission of germs.

God even commanded the use of “water of purification” which consisted of .... which would have had an antibacterial effect.

This is an awesome proof of the inspiration of scripture and that even though we have not experienced anything like this before God knows all about it and is with us through it all.
