Introduction
Last week there was a lot of theology about Abrahams Covenant because there were Jews trying to make Gentiles into Jews but at the very end our understanding of the theology paid off by telling us how Jesus paid it all for us.
When I first read this I was like Paul is just giving smack down after smack down here
but then I realized I was wrong Paul is giving Smack up after smack up because He is forcing both Jews and people like us to understand that because Jesus paid it all we are set free from the consequences of our sin, and there is nothing we can do to be made more right with God
***These people received salvation through Paul’s ministry, and grew in their faith through Pauls ministry and now this new teaching to them is causing them to go against Paul’s ministry.
This week is different - this week there is theology then a gold nugget, then theology then gold nugget. Where last week was a lot of theology then gold at the end.
I cant even tell you how often you hear of someone that accepted the Lord and blossomed into an amazing believer and became this servant for the Lord and then they get wind of some new teaching that may not even be wrong but somehow they end up viewing the church that brought them to Jesus andwas the place where they developped a strong walk with God negatively
Paul’s Smack Up to us (Gentiles) (Galatians 4:8-20)
Most often they go to a church that appears knowledgable because it fuels our pride. Sometimes they go to a church that is more fun because it fuels

Have you ever wondered why didnt God just make the gospel available right after adam and eve sinned?
This secrtion is going to answer that.
after teaching that section maybe end with how it is similiar for people in that God has salvation prepared for us and He knows when we will accept God but he is allowing the full consequences of sin build up in our life so we can understand and know what Jesus really did for us.
Unfortunately that is why you got some raised in the church people that
they dont know the conseqences of sin…
*things - sacrifices how did everyone in world then know that is how you are right with God
v. 4 full ness of time - prophecy, morals, politcally (pax romans, travel (50,000 miles of paved roads, crucifixion), theolgogically (speaking greek) (Alexander the Great encored everyone to learn Greek, now common langauge.
- have you ever wondered why the Bible says “sons” more than daughters. Like why does it say we are sons even though Paul knows that there are woman saved.
because in the days of the Bible a son had rights.
if you got a problem with that you should yell at a history book
but this why you girls are called sons in the Bible because with Jesus you have rights with an inheritance in the kingdom of God.
Lets read v. 1-2

heir - has rights to something great
this section is super deep.
Paul gives us an illustration and we got to figure it out
1 Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all,
2 but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father.
child - may be an heir to something great but still needs
Okay because this was an analogy given to a different culture I got to teach you about the culture:
Most rich families that would have an inheritance likely had slaves.

In Roman law, boys from birth to 14 years of age were in the charge of a legal guardian (cf. 3:23–25). From age 14 to 25, their property was administered by trustees (cf. 4:2). Paul was alluding to this Roman custom by using these precise terms.
