Peace with God brings peace to us. Peace with God brings peace and even joy to our lives.

Peace with God (vs 1-2)

Prayer does wonders!

Philippians 4:6–7 ESV

6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Behind our prayers is a firm foundation in Christ.

Romans 5:1–2 ESV

1 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Our Foundation - justified by God through our faith.

This has brought peace between us and God

no longer at war with God

before faith in Christ we had no desire for God

He changes rebels into willing, loving children

God has declared that we are righteouos by faith.

Faith in Jesus brings peace with God because our heart toward him and others has been changed

Our house is built on a solid foundation

Access by faith

No bad thing can penetrate God’s grace and bring harm to us, but suffering and hardship only serves to make us stronger.

The glory of God - Our destiny

Because our hope is in our future deliverance from this corrupt world, we can endure what Paul calls this “slight momentary affliction”

2 Corinthians 4:17–18 ESV

17 For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, 18 as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

Glory in Suffering

Know the value of suffering. It has a God given purpose!

Why Christians suffer.

Suffering is common to all in a fallen world

Suffering Corrects Christians

Suffering is an opportunity to bring God glory

Suffering is a Christian’s privilege

Suffering is constructive.

Hope

Suffering changes our hearts desires from the things of this world to God and to the things of heaven.
