HOOK
HOOK
I was very happy last night being able to fellowship with our Couples Life Group despite of the government lockdown— if there’s a will, there’s a way— kung gusto maraming paraan, kung ayaw maraming dahilan
I encourage you to employ technology to continue ministry— God gave this technology for a purpose— this is not just for our own leisure— we will reach the great frontier for Jesus
A lot of people are prophesying about the end of the world— with all these things going on around us— but rather than dwelling on what is yet to come, focus on what is needed to be done— focus Jesus said, he himself— nor the angels in heaven knows when— only the Father knows— take a listen in
36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
While leaving the temple— referring to the temple, Jesus said, “not one stone will be left on another— everyone will be thrown down”
At the Mount of Olives— Jesus was sitting— Disciples came to him privately and asked— when will this happen?”— and this is what Jesus said in Matthew 24:14
14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
If there’s any prophecy that we must listen to, specially in this time of great uncertainty— it should be the prophecies of Jesus—
The Bible is a “the” book of history and prophecy— you blend history and prophecy, and they will lead you to your destiny— which if you believe, will be eternity because the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom— read with me in Psalm 111:10
10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.
Now speaking of prophecies— I gave you a couple of prophecies about Jesus that He fulfilled— I promised to give you some more, and I will today
Still on the question— Why Did They Follow Jesus?
Yesterday we learned that they [disciples] followed Jesus because He fulfilled what the Prophets wrote about Him— about the virgin birth— and about the Messiah originating from Bethlehem
Today let me give you some more of those prophecies fulfilled by Jesus

GOD WILL RAISE UP FOR YOU A PROPHET LIKE ME
15 The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your fellow Israelites. You must listen to him.
'“Mula sa inyo, si Yahweh na inyong Diyos ay pipili para sa inyo ng isang propetang katulad ko. Dapat kayong makinig sa kanya. ' Deuteronomio 18:15
And later on in chapter 6 of John you will see that John confirmed this prophecy—
14 After the people saw the sign Jesus performed, they began to say, “Surely this is the Prophet who is to come into the world.”
Luke also attested to this in
22 For Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you. 23 Anyone who does not listen to him will be completely cut off from their people.’
Let me underscore an important statement Moses said about Jesus— “anyone who does not listen to him will be completely cut off from their people.”
I think i have time for one more— keep studying your Bible and you will discover more of Old Testament prophecies fulfilled by Jesus
JESUS ARRIVE AT JERUSALEM ON A DONKEY
9 Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
Not this Sunday but the next— we will be celebrating Palm Sunday— that was in remembrance of Jesus arrival in Jerusalem on that week when he was crucified
It was prophesied by Zechariah some 520 years before Jesus— it was confirmed by John
Maybe you’ll argue— that prophecy might have been staged— and Jesus simply got himself a donkey to fulfill it—
15 “Do not be afraid, Daughter Zion; see, your king is coming, seated on a donkey’s colt.”
and was fulfilled in the gospel of Matthew— as they approached Jerusalem, Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them—

2 saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me.

They followed Jesus because He fulfilled what Moses wrote about Him in the Law [Scriptures—Pentateuch]
