It has been a strange week. And this is a strange service for me. I am alone, there is no one here. You are all at home, not for apathy sake, but by govermnent order. Our countrty, along with most of the world has been put on lock down, to try and curb the spead of a SRAS virus called Covid19.
When you state the facts plainly its pretty scary. Its still not the actual virus that is scary its the devestation that follows it and its how the effect are affecting different people.
Im not going to lie, at certan times, when i feel overehelmed, when i see people breaking quarranteen like its northing and when i hear fake news - i have been afraid.
Even now, i am afraid.
I am fraid for all our wonderful senior members in Bartle house, Moth and Natal Settlers.
I am afraid for my own folks, who both have compromised lungs.
I am afraid for the litle children who will get it.
I am afraid for so many people who have lost their income, from the store staff to those in tourism.
I am farid for our health care system when the numbers get into the thousands.
I am afraid for our members who are still at work, on the front lines, risking their lives to keep our country running.
I am Afraid, and i may be wrong, i may be weak, but i think many of you share my fear.
But the message today is not for those glow in the dark christains who pretend like they are not afraid.
Todays message is for the weak christians like me who are looking to God for help. And thse weak, the Lord has words of comfort.
9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

The Psalmest wrote: In my distress i called to the Lord”, well for me, in my fear i also called to the Lord.
And He answered.
As a scripture of promise for all of you today, read our test:
3 What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
When I am Afraid, I will Trust in you.
That word trust, is powerful. It means confidance, hope and security.
When i am afraid i will place my confidence my hoipe, my future, my life my security in you of Lord.
Trust is not exactly the same as faith.
The words translated “trust” in the Bible literally mean “a bold, confident, sure security or action based on that security.”
Faith is the gift of God ().
Trust is not exactly the same as faith, which is the gift of God ().
Rather, trusting is what we do because of the faith we have been given.
Faith is beliving that the Bible is the Word of God. Trust is believingon all of those promises in all circumstances even when evidence seems contradictory.
Well my frineds, we are in contradictory days.
Now is the time where our faith and our trust must prove their worth.
talks about faith, which is accepting and believing the truth that God reveals about Himself, supremely in the person of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Without faith it is impossibke to please God and without trust it is impossible to revieve God’s peace.
Nevertheless, the practical consequence of faith in God is trust, which we prove by living out our full acceptance of God’s promises day by day.
3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Furthermore, it is by this trust that we are promised peace:
“You will keep in peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you” ().
The classic verse regarding trust is
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
This verse sums up the Bible’s teaching on trust.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”
This verse sums up the Bible’s teaching on trust.
1: Trust in the Lord
1: Trust in the Lord
First, it is the Lord in whom we are to trust.
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Not ourselves or our plans, and certainly not the world’s wisdom and devices.
Not ourselves or our plans, and certainly not the world’s wisdom and devices.
We are not trustworthy - we have lied and cheated. We have broken promises to others and to ourselves (how many failed new year resolutions bear wittness to this).
And to trust in the world is foolish.
We trust in the Lord because He and He alone is truly trustworthy.
His Word is trustworthy.
His Word is trustworthy.
5 Thy testimonies are very sure: holiness becometh thine house, O LORD, for ever.
7 The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure.
ps 111:7
9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
), His nature is faithful and true (; ; ; ), and His plans for us are perfect and purposeful (; ).
We liv in a world perpetuated by fake news. By fear News. All we hear is frudulent news about this or that.
But do you know what is never fake? The Good news.
ps 119 111:7
We can trust in the Word of God as if our lives depended upon it, and the reality is - they do.
; ), His nature is faithful and true (; ; ; ), and His plans for us are perfect and purposeful (; ).
His nature is faithful and true.
His nature is faithful and true.
), His nature is faithful and true (; ; ; ), and His plans for us are perfect and purposeful (; ).
9 Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;
10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
; ; ; ),
13 Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations.
ps; ),
6 Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever:
; ),
God does not lie, he never removes his love. He is faithul, even when we are not, even when we let our fears get to us, he is still wanting to comfort us.
Then people did not care about their neighbors and went out in quarranted and spread the virus and more people died.
And His plans for us are perfect and purposeful
And His plans for us are perfect and purposeful
; ).
10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
; ).
and His plans for us are perfect and purposeful (; ).
(; ).
We must remeber that you are the church of Jesus Christ. He saved you for a reason. and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against you.
2: Trust God with all your heart
2: Trust God with all your heart
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Our trust in God must not be superficial, biut we must trust him with all our heart.
Trust can be a difficult thing to quantify or measure or even evaluate.
How do we know how much we trust God?
Well i believe Jesus gave us a way to easlity evaluate if we trust him with out whole heart:
Further, because of God’s nature, we are to trust Him with all our hearts, committing every aspect of our lives to Him in complete confidence.
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
mat 22 37….
The more you love the Lord, the more you will trust the Lord.
3: Don’t Trust in Anything Else
3: Don’t Trust in Anything Else
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
….
Finally, we are not to trust in ourselves because our understanding is temporal, finite, and tainted by our sin natures.
Finally, we are not to trust in ourselves because our understanding is temporal, finite, and tainted by our sin natures.
Trusting in ourselves is like walking confidently across a rotten wooden bridge over a yawning chasm thousands of feet deep.
Disaster inevitably follows.
Repeatdly God warns us about trusting in untrustworthy things.
And remeber what trust is: Confidence, hope and security.
Dont trust in man:
Dont trust in man:
5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
Money
Money
28 He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.
6 They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;
Testing of your faith and trust

6 They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;
7 None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:

Testing of your faith and trust
Now is the time to trust and i know its scary, trust always involes an elemet of the unknown - thats why its trust.
The trust test - blindfolded = uncertantity and anxisty.
Today we are facing a trust challange.
Corona is the blindfold that obscures our vision, it maybe even blocks out God.
But thats ok, what matter is that you trust that He is and that He is there and that you fall upon Him in Faith.

Some of you may have gotten overwhelmed and we face still more difficult days ahead.
Some of you have staumbled and some of you will still stumble.
Thats ok
The man of God never stops trusting in God completely.
24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.
The man of God knows that, though trials will beset in this life, his trust will not waiver because that trust is based on faith in the promises of God: the promise of eternal joy with the Lord and the promise of an inheritance that “can never perish, spoil and fade”
His faith may be knocked, He may stumble, or He may fall into the foulest of sins, but “though he stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand” ().
The man of God knows that, though trials will beset in this life, his trust will not waiver because that trust is based on faith in the promises of God: the promise of eternal joy with the Lord and the promise of an inheritance that “can never perish, spoil and fade” ().
