It’s Happening Again.

On September 11, 2001 a terrorist attack felled the twin towers and was quoted over and over again.
Matthew 24:4–8 ESV
And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.
When the swine flu hit in early 2009 to late 2010 I remember people talking about that this might be the beginning of the end of times. Today I am hearing questions based on
Revelation 6:8 ESV
And I looked, and behold, a pale horse! And its rider’s name was Death, and Hades followed him. And they were given authority over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by wild beasts of the earth.
When the swine flu hit in early 2009 to late 2010 I remember people talking about that this might be the beginning of the end of times.
Personally I have always believed that from somewhere within the government was “the” antichrist and that “antichrist” would usher in a time when even Christians would be deceived and follow “government” instead of leaders. NOTE I AM NOT TELLING YOU TO GIVE INTO ANARCHY. However I can say that most of the recommendations for keeping yourself healthy are actually in the Bible. (Leviticus all over the place).
I’ve always thought that we would know the end times were coming when we entered a cashless society. Yesterday when I went to the store I swiped my card and had to push those buttons..... Was it cleaned off after the last disease ridden person pushed their pin number. I thought I would only use cash .... but who touched that last. I read an article yesterday saying the corona virus may be the beginning of developing a cashless society.
So am I nervous… a little.
But I am not fearful for myself. I know that if buying bananas and dental floss with a debit card kills me.... things just got way better.
But if my sister has not made Jesus the Lord of her life… things get way worse.

Is This a Sign?

I don’t know.

I’m going to tell you the quick answer. I don’t know.
Let me give you another answer. Neither do you.
I went to a couple people’s pages who you tell you everything is a sign but for some reason.... this isn’t. So why would the people that typically thing a butterfly flapping it’s wings might be the end of the earth not think this is? Makes no sense.

Maybe.

I’ve already described some verses that could point to it.

Maybe Not.

There have been way worse plagues and pestilences that have happened.
The wars we fight today - we’ve been in worse.

THE BEST ANSWER

Be Ready.
Matthew 25:1–10 ESV
“Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them, but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps. As the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and slept. But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’ Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘Since there will not be enough for us and for you, go rather to the dealers and buy for yourselves.’ And while they were going to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut.
Parable of the Girls who didn’t have enough oil.
There will be a day.... WHEN IT’S TOO LATE

2 Good Answers for the Fear and Anxiety

The bad answer… I don’t want to get sick.
I’m not ready.... good.. you have time we can get some oil in your lamp right now.
I have loved ones that aren’t ready.
Right now we have a better opportunity than we have ever had to show people the love of Christ.

What Are We to Do?

The answer is the same as it has always been.
Ephesians 4:10–14 ESV
He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.) And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.
Ephesians 4:12 ESV
to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,
Whatever job description you have the goal has always been to help other grow to maturity in Christ.
Love your family more. They are stuck in that house with you and while I hope it’s a glorious time of connection, it can also be a time of getting on each others nerve. Do your best to be at peace with each other. Th family has always been God’s #1 picture of how Christians are supposed to be.
Read you word. Cmon you have the time. Spend this time refreshing your relationship with Him.
Pray.
Worship
Love your neighbor. You might be their last chance to see Christ. Yup through your actions and words.
