Introduction

What is this rest? A perpetual vacation?
Hebrews 1. The Warning Is Repeated: Don’t Miss God’s Rest (1–2)

The old Puritan commentator John Owen described five features of this rest for the believer:

• Rest means peace with God.

• Rest means freedom from a servile, bondage-like spirit in the worship and service of God.

• Rest means deliverance from the burden of Mosaic observance.

• Rest means the freedom of worship according to the gospel.

• Rest means the rest that God Himself enjoys.

A state of a SATISFIED Soul!
Does not mean an easy life! (Ex: The Apostle Paul - He had an undefeated soul)
Philippians 1:21 NIV
21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
There is a lot to worry about of coarse, but when was the last time we concerned ourself with being concerned about entering God’s rest?
