Sermon 10 - Tracking forward after Triumph Sermon 10 - Tracking forward after Triumph Tony Cansler / General Esther 10 Thru this study we have observed great trials of God’s people. We studied one of the greatest trials in the history of the Jews, their entire existence was threatened. No doubt many of them which knew about this would have been scared, perhaps even terrified. Then comes God, We watched God orchestrate a plan before anyone even knew what He was doing, we watched Him use His servants to spare His people. We seen how God’s people Trusted in their Trouble and they Triumphed. Then in the end people Turned unto the Lord because of what He did. God’s people came out victorious and Triumphant. Friends we are facing troublesome times, which are filling our hearts with fear. Many of us have never seen times like this. Many today are scared and terrified as they fear for their lives. I desire to bring you a word of comfort and assurance. God is still on the throne, He has not stepped down nor has he stepped aside. He still has all power in heaven and on the earth. God surely is aware of what we are facing as many of us have been talking with him about it. I personally believe the Lord is up to something. It is in times like this that we must Trust the Lord in our Trouble and we too can Triumph. Multitudes today are going thru this troublesome time Exported from Logos Bible Software, 9:19 AM March 22, 2020. 1 without having a personal relationship with the Lord which means that they do not have Him with them in their troubles and tribulations. I am glad that I have the Lord which Calms in the chaos, He Comforts in the crisis , He gives Peace in the problems, He Assures in adversity, He Soothes in the storm, and He Triumphs in our trouble. Friend if that is you today let me encourage you to turn to the Lord during this crisis and trust Him. We see late in this book that after the people seen what the Lord did that they turned to Him. I want you to know that this current crisis will end, we will come out of this Triumphant and Victorious. When this happens the Born again believers need to arise and give all credit unto the Lord. Let us pray that when people see the Protection and Provision of the Lord that they will too turn to him. May our prayer be that the Lord would do something so great thru this that HE alone can get credit for it. The Need of the King Esther 10:1 KJV 1900 1 And the king Ahasuerus laid a tribute upon the land, and upon the isles of the sea. Blessed the Land, 127 providences, Islands, from India to Ethiopia A Tax thru the land went out The Obligation The Government was Obligated to tax the people Exported from Logos Bible Software, 9:19 AM March 22, 2020. 2 The People were Obligated to pay the taxes The Objective Raise money The king lived a life of luxury and had a significant amount of expenses related to this After everything had occured the finances needed to be replenished Ahasuerus asked for the people of the Kingdom to pay taxes , this was how the people could help restore the Kingdom Once the Coronavirus epidemic passes we will need a time of rebuilding. We must turn to King Jesus during this time of rebuilding and return to being one nation under God. The Novel of the Kings Esther 10:2 KJV 1900 2 And all the acts of his power and of his might, and the declaration of the greatness of Mordecai, whereunto the king advanced him, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia? Those things written inside of the book of the kings would have recorded like as a Who’s Who’s of that day. What we are going thru right now is going to be recorded in history, would you rather we be remembered for buying all of the TP and Hand sanitizer and trying to sell it at ridiculous prices or would you rather we be remembered for our Faith and Trust in the Lord Jesus. I would rather we be known for our prayers before the Lord Jesus. Exported from Logos Bible Software, 9:19 AM March 22, 2020. 3 The Pattern of Mordecai “the acts” Mordecai was not concerned with recognition or notoriety. He was focused on pleasing the Lord. However we do see later in life and here he does get recognition and notoriety. It wasn’t that he asked for it but that the Lord did it. Let us do the work and allow the Lord to be concerned about the rest. 1 Peter 5:6 KJV 1900 6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Matthew 23:12 KJV 1900 12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted. Matthew 5:16 KJV 1900 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Mark 10:42–45 KJV 1900 42 But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them. 43 But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: 44 And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all. 45 For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep. James 2:17–18 KJV 1900 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Psalm 126:5–6 KJV 1900 5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. 6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. Luke 10:30–36 KJV 1900 30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. 31 And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. 32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side. 33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, Exported from Logos Bible Software, 9:19 AM March 22, 2020. 5 34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee. 36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves? Titus 2:7 KJV 1900 7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, The Power of Mordecai Powerful “acts of his power” Acts 1:8 KJV 1900 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Ephesians 3:20 KJV 1900 20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, 2 Peter 1:3 KJV 1900 3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us Exported from Logos Bible Software, 9:19 AM March 22, 2020. 6 to glory and virtue: 2 Timothy 1:7 KJV 1900 7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Mightiful “his might” Exodus 15:2 KJV 1900 2 The Lord is my strength and song, And he is become my salvation: He is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; My father’s God, and I will exalt him. 2 Samuel 22:33 KJV 1900 33 God is my strength and power: And he maketh my way perfect. Psalm 46:1 KJV 1900 1 God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. 2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV 1900 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. The Position of Mordecai “and the declaration of the greatness of Mordecai, whereunto the king advanced him” Mordecai was promoted to Prime Minister and continued to increase until he was beside the King The Publication of Mordecai “written in the book of the chronicles of the kings Exported from Logos Bible Software, 9:19 AM March 22, 2020. 7 of Media and Persia” This would have been some magnificent deeds recorded about Mordecai What is being recorded about us? Revelation 20:12 KJV 1900 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. Words Matthew 12:36 KJV 1900 36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. Works Hebrews 6:10 KJV 1900 10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. Matthew 6:20 KJV 1900 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: Worship Exodus 34:14 KJV 1900 14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God: Luke 4:8 KJV 1900 Exported from Logos Bible Software, 9:19 AM March 22, 2020. 8 8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. John 4:24 KJV 1900 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. Focus of Worship “God” “him” “him” “Spirit” - Triune God The Focus of Worship should be always to glorify God In our world today the focus of worship has became for the worshiper to get the praise of men and not for men to Praise the Lord. When you come into the house of the Lord to worship, what is your focus of worship. In other words, why do you worship. What do you want to accomplish in the worship. Honestly, we should desire to lift of Jesus, we should be like Isaiah and see the Lord high and lifted up on the throne Exodus 20:3–5 KJV 1900 3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. 4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: 5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and Exported from Logos Bible Software, 9:19 AM March 22, 2020. 9 fourth generation of them that hate me; Foundation of Worship “in spirit” “in truth” Forms of Worship God gave a command to worship, there are three types of worship in our lives. There is private worship, there is public worship, there is pretend worship and we have pretend worship in our lives. We need to rid our lives of the pretend/ phony worship and fill it with private and public worship. Public Worship Public worship is when you assemble together with Gods people in a joint effort to worship the Lord. Psalm 100:4 KJV 1900 4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, And into his courts with praise: Be thankful unto him, and bless his name. Acts 2:1–2 KJV 1900 1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. Psalm 150 KJV 1900 1 Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: Praise him in the firmament Exported from Logos Bible Software, 9:19 AM March 22, 2020. 10 of his power. 2 Praise him for his mighty acts: Praise him according to his excellent greatness. 3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: Praise him with the psaltery and harp. 4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance: Praise him with stringed instruments and organs. 5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals: Praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. 6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord. Private Worship Private worship is that time that you set aside or just any time that you just have a time of personal worship. Could be that you are driving down the road by yourself and you just start worshiping the Lord. Could be you are up in the mountains by yourself, could be you are out working in the fields and something just comes over you and you just worship the King like no one is watching, like no one is around, just you and the Lord. That my friends is Private, personal worship. When you Pray one component of that Prayer is Praise and that makes it Worship Exported from Logos Bible Software, 9:19 AM March 22, 2020. 11 Matthew 6:6 KJV 1900 6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. Pretend Worship Pretend worship is that time when you put on a show in an effort to try to impress someone. Try to show someone just how holy you are. Friends, rid yourselves of pretend worship. It is also those times that you have lives and hearts that are sin filled and you still come into the church and perform vain worship. This is a disgrace to you, to your faith, and to God. Isaiah 29:13 KJV 1900 13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, And with their lips do honour me, But have removed their heart far from me, And their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: Matthew 15:8–9 KJV 1900 8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. Matthew 6:5 KJV 1900 5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to Exported from Logos Bible Software, 9:19 AM March 22, 2020. 12 pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. Perverted Worship 1 Samuel 15:20–23 KJV 1900 20 And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the Lord, and have gone the way which the Lord sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites. 21 But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the Lord thy God in Gilgal. 22 And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to hearken than the fat of rams. 23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, He hath also rejected thee from being king. Format of Worship The Forms of worship vary from person to person, there is no one set form of worship that everyone should follow. Exported from Logos Bible Software, 9:19 AM March 22, 2020. 13 As the Forms of Worship will vary we must not ever allow the worship to become Faulty. The Worship must remain Faithful, Factual, Fruitful, and Fervent Worship. Shouting 1 Chronicles 16:36 KJV 1900 36 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel for ever and ever. And all the people said, Amen, and praised the Lord. Nehemiah 5:13 KJV 1900 13 Also I shook my lap, and said, So God shake out every man from his house, and from his labour, that performeth not this promise, even thus be he shaken out, and emptied. And all the congregation said, Amen, and praised the Lord. And the people did according to this promise. Nehemiah 8:6 KJV 1900 6 And Ezra blessed the Lord, the great God. Ephesians 3:14 KJV 1900 14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Philippians 2:10–11 KJV 1900 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. When this is over and it will end let us Worship the King of Kings for sparing us and delivering us. In whatever format that looks like for you. Worship Him. The Nobleman of the King Esther 10:3 KJV 1900 3 For Mordecai the Jew was next unto king Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews, and accepted of the multitude of his brethren, seeking the wealth of his people, and speaking peace to all his seed. If there had been a poll in that day no doubt he would have been off of the charts for what he had done. Aimed for the Prosperity of His People “seeking the wealth of his people” He was not focused or concerned with his own prosperity but rather the prosperity of others.
