Proposition

In order to receive eternal life, a Christian must be willing to abandon their current way of life and follow Christ

Introduction (Antithesis)

Wherever Princess Diana of England goes, she stops traffic and delays airplane departures. Everyone wants to see her. They sneak to take pictures of her shopping, jogging, sunbathing, dancing, or riding horseback. My favorite picture of her, however, is in Harlem Hospital. She had stopped her tour guides from any further visits to expensive boutiques and art galleries. She halted the teas and soirees and requested the limousines and police escorts to leave the East Side of Manhattan and head for Harlem. She had heard from someone that a ward in Harlem Hospital was filled with infants born with the HIV virus who were destined for early death. She went in to see them, rejecting the plastic smock, the rubber gloves, the face mask-she knew that AIDS was not transmitted by breathing and touching with the hand-and was photographed holding a little round-faced baby with wide, curious eyes who had no idea of the circumstances of his birth or the fate that awaited him. But Princess Diana knew, and I wonder what she was whispering in his ear. Maybe she said, "God loves you, and so do I."
What about this story speaks to us? Here you have the princess of Wales, with all of her beauty, money, fame and prestige stopping everything to care for sick babies.

Thesis

Relevant Question

What is keeping us from getting to God? What is the one thing He desires of us that we’re not willing to give? How do we get ourselves in a place to receive what God has for us?
