Theme: The new covenant promised to Israel, through Jeremiah, is accomplished in Jesus. He is the faithful Israelite who produces the faithful fruit, who takes us into the final promise land. The meal of bread and wine, is the sign of the fulfillment of that promise. It signifies that we are on the right path and it is a foretaste of the great banquet of Jesus that is to come.
