Lk. 23:26a – As they led Him away… Jn. 19:16b – Then they took Jesus away. B. The story of the Bible is the story of the Lamb: 1. Genesis 3 – God provided an animal skin to cover Adam and Eve. The Lord God made clothing from skins for the man and his wife, and he clothed them. Gen. 3:21 2. Genesis 22 – God provided a ram in place of Isaac. Abraham looked up and saw a ram caught in the thicket by its horns. So Abraham went and took the ram and offered it as a burnt offering in place of his son. Gen. 22:13 3. Exodus 12 – The Israelites were spared judgment by sacrificing a lamb. “Go, select an animal from the flock according to your families, and slaughter the Passover animal. 22 Take a cluster of hyssop, dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and brush the lintel and the two doorposts with some of the blood in the basin.” Ex. 12:21-22 4.
