Sermonette Greeting in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Good Morning First Baptist Church Family and Friends. Scripture Reading: Matthew 14:22-33 Subject: Walking by Faith and Not Fear My brother and Sister this morning we are living in a time were the world is full of fear and doubt but I come this morning to encouraged you to trust God. I am completely convinced that God has an answer for American. That answer is to seek the Lord and turn from our wicked ways. He loves us so much and only wants us to serve him with our whole heart. The time is now to serve the Lord and know that he is your Lord and personal Savior. It is time to know the Lord for yourself and to develop a deeper relationship with him. We must walk by faith and not by sight. Looking unto to Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith. Let us, this morning Walk by faith and not by fear. If we look at our text this morning, we will see that throughout Jesus ministry, he repeatedly commended people for faith and reproved others for a lack of it. Faith is of great importance because it’s required for salvation. It’s also essential after we’re saved, as we are to continue living by faith—that is, by the firm conviction God will do what He has promised. This requires us to stay focused on the Lord. If we take our eyes off Jesus and start looking at circumstances, our confidence in Him could begin to wobble. We need to stay on the boat and look to Jesus. I encouraged you this morning to walk by faith and not by Fear. A good example is Peter’s experience of walking on the Sea of Galilee. He started out confident, but as soon as he looked away from Jesus and saw the wind, human reasoning took over. The apostle thought, People can’t walk on water!—and his faith faltered. We’re just like Peter when we know what God has said but try to add our logic to His commands. Your logic thinking will fail every time it comes to Jesus his thinking. Our ways and thoughts are just not like Jesus. My brothers and Sisters, another reason we falter is that when we focus on the circumstances instead of on Christ, little problems can seem huge and start to dominate our thoughts. That’s why we must consider every situation in the light of our great God, who can handle anything and everything. Sometimes the problem is that we can’t see God in our circumstances. He’s promised to take care of us, but He may provide in a way other than what we want. Or, we may think the Lord couldn’t possibly be in the midst of a difficult or painful situation. But He is, and He works everything for our good if we belong to Him. Roman 8:28: remind us that, we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Are you walking by faith or relying on your senses and reasoning? Walking by sight brings anxiety and fear, but faith produces peaceful confidence. The question is this morning, What are you putting your faith in God or Man? Let us begin this week as a church family to walk by faith and not by fear. Prayer Let us pray, Lord help us as a church family to walk by faith and not by fear. Let us continue to look towards you for everything. We know that you are our help and we believe that our help come from you. Lord, help us to patiently wait on you. We thank you for your protection and grace that is covering us everyday through this crisis. We love and we thank you. Amen!
