1:2           we have been transformed

We are no longer sinners, but saints.

We are not waiting on a group of frail and faulty clergymen to deem us worthy and declare us saints, according to their findings, after we die, we are SAINTS now.

As it is written, 1 John 3:1-3

“Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.”

1:4-5  Genuine Saints possess and manifest 3 essential characteristics that verify their transformation.

1.   Faith in CHRIST JESUS.

2.   Love for all saints regardless of their position or disposition.

3.   Hope based on the Word of the Truth of the Gospel concerning the inheritance laid up for them in heaven.

Paul, In his letter to the Corinthians saints (1 Cor 13:13), spoke of these three essential characteristics; this is what he said: “And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

1:13         We have been translated

This is an accomplished fact

God has rescued and liberated us from the power, dominion, authority, and tyranny of darkness. Darkness speaks of a miserable, horrible state of being held captive by Satan. Darkness is a symbol of ignorance, falsehood, and sin.

Ephesians 2:1-22 (NKJV)

“We are not to forget that there was a time when we were without Christ;

§       We were aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in this world.

§       We were dead in trespasses and sins.

§       We walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience.

§       We all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

§       Now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

§       Now, therefore, we are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God.”       (Now, let’s take a look at this Kingdom)
